Video description says the copter did this on auto-takeoff. No user input. Not saying this is true because there's no way to confirm that from this video alone.

Man..left a nice dent in the garage too..
Never got it in the air makes for a good Viagra ad...His drone crashes and he goes home ticked off..lol Wifes hiding in the closet.

No way id fly in that close of quarters on a maiden flight it flew right towards the metal door like a magnet most of the time I take off and its no issue what so ever with a v2+.
2 foot drift from take off area if that straight up never an issue seeing this makes me wonder if he had it in atti mode not gps upon take off.
I find it best to toggle between the two modes take off is always in GPS mode then once in the air and at a safe level I chose atti if I want to use coarse lock for a pan shot.
Then bam right back to gps drone stops in its tracks...Im really skittish about pushing these things to limits not needed I see gps mode as the best failsafe one can use at times always recovers the craft then nothing more than gain altitude and orientate .

So many people should buy a phantom first!!

That was painful to watch and the darn camera came flying off and bounced across the driveway. Guess I might wait to do an auto take off.... hummmmm

As we know now, it was NOT the pilot's fault. But everyone is so quick to judge on forums...

If he was having issues the ONLY place he should have been "testing" this is a WIDE OPEN field with absolutely ZERO obstacles around (including his poor wife/girlfriend). If he was filming this and as he clearly says in the video, "see if it does any shimmying" then he wasn't 100% certain of it's lack of problems.

I'm concerned about people like this that put too much faith in "auto take-off" and such features becoming complacent. I counted and there was a good 5 seconds from the moment it pitched backwards that he could have killed the propellers by putting both control sticks in the down & inward positions to save this. Instead his hands were on a video camera because he was complacent about the "auto" features.

Complacency is going to get some little kid or other nearby person seriously hurt at some point by an individual that has bought one of these putting too much trust in such features that they're not careful enough to go somewhere MUCH safer to test & film potential problems they're having.

Could have hurt the woman.

Very dangerous indeed this has to be fixed asap.
