Please check my inspire prop. It took only a minute of your time.

http://youtu.be/ctcIHwzzuGs

Any ideas? Are my props worn-out?
They've flewn 150 KM./ 100 Mile.
The bearings seems ok. It is only with attached prop. When I twisted it 180 degrees it gives less noise.

I dont have a Microsoft account......  can you just post it some other way..... I find that the I pads work great for this task and automatically compress to make it  work.

Or post the video on you tube with a link in the description.
Is the prop making a funny noise ?  If you feel the props are even questionable I would replace them , also I would replace the Locking mechanism as well, I replace mine  3 times a year, it is inexpoensive and good insurance.  Be sure to blow out the motors with compressed air as well, I find that some dust and small debris seem to find there way in there .

Also check the blade tips at eye level during a hover, compare them to the others  ( use safety glasses ) Make sure they are in line and not out of alignment , a bent "Main"  shaft will cause  strange noises and wicked vibration  .  This is a task that was common with RC helicopters to get equal pitch out of the main rotor .

Have you had any tipovers that would cause damage to the Motors ?

One other note if you are going to replace the Props and locks, If you dont have the 1345T setup, get it, and dont use carbon fibre blades on the Inspire, they put to much strain on the locking mechanism during fast climbouts and braking.  On the Phantom series carbon fibre is ok but in my opinion not a good fit on Inspire, be sure to get Genuine DJI plastic blades. ( be sure to use lock tite on the screws for the Locking mechanism for the props)

While you are trying to make your video.

Please inspect your props and hubs for wear or damage. Take some photos and post them.
Try your spare props and see if it still makes noise. Please be aware that a bad bearing could be fine without loading.

Dr. D  WOW ! that is strange , I would  replace the locking mechanism and props for sure.

If you take another Prop off  the other side does it do it ? I think if you inspect the prop or the locking mechanism something is broken off.

I just did this on mine and found if the prop lock was not tight , I could get a similar sound .

Also take that locking mechanism apart and look for a crack in it , something is not right, I would not fly with that until I had new props and locks.

Let me know what you find, I am going to go with the Prop  Lock mechanism is broken, hairline crack and not getting it tight all the way.

Get yourself a quality T handle 2.0mm allen wrench and take that apart and inspect and replace !

good luck and let me know .

Donnie, I just tried a new set props. The rattling is almost over.

I think I see the problem, look at the bottom of the prop, it is not shaped correctly ( The center hub is defomed or broken )  in this shot, take a look at it up close and see if it is deformed , maybe from heat or something during the molding process .
Let me know after you compare to others.

Hmm don't see any difference.

I thought I had it solved for sure, sorry Dr. D, can you take a quick pick of the Hub that is in question as well, only if you have a extra minute, it must be getting late out your way , I live in the USA, Michigan to be exact.
I wonder if it is just worn out and loose and you would not be able to tell unless you had a dial caliper.

This has me vexed !

No problem! Any help is welcome.
I just re-ensemble the hub. Nothing strange about it.

Any help from one of the DJI-guys? It feels I'm grounded...
My aircraft is less than three months old, never had an issue.

That is strange,
I would just get some new installation kits. http://store.dji.com/product/ins ... er-installation-kit
In the meantime, try changing the locking mechanism to another motor and see if it still does it on the other motor.

Thanks Ken,

I'll try that.
There are more known cases on the internet. Can it still be a (lower)motor bearing?
As Rich said: 'Please be aware that a bad bearing could be fine without loading'.
How to check these bearings? There  is no unusual noise coming from the motor.

Thanks Ken,

I'll try that.

i personally do not think it's a bearing because it only does it when the prop is on one way then putting the prop on 180 degrees the other way it doesn't do it. But the aircraft has a 1yr warranty and if it is an motor issue it would be covered under warranty.
If you cannot feel anything unusual when hand turning the motor it may not be a bearing.

Ok thanks Ken, ordered two Hub sets.
In the meantime I was trying to get a temporary solution and I found out this:

I think that just a little space between the hub and the prop give this loud resonance.
Just two pieces of ordinary (sello) tape with a thickness of 0,1(!) mm. will help.
For there is no physical damage to the hub or prop it might be a permanent solution.

Dr.  D I think that over time the Locking mechanism just wore out from braking and acceleration, I would be careful flying and avoid
hard braking and acceleration until the new locks arrive.  If you have a dial caliper it would be interesting to see how much wear between the

old and new one.

The HUBS should be replaced (as well)
Or you can use some Tape...

Looks like you need some new hubs.

Do not take a chance and just replace the bad parts, They do not cost much and you will be back to new condition again.....

I guess, you didn't  listen to anyone else's comments on here other than Donnie.  Next time I will not bother

I just swapped out the 1345S hubs for the new 1345T. The red ones on mine both rattle and are looser than the white hubs. Bad design.
I'm going back to the 1345S hubs as I don't trust the new ones.
