Can anyone help me?  I just recieved my new Inspire 1, and when I download the latest firmware, insert my SD card into my computer, copy the downloaded file into the directory of the SD card, and then put the card back into the camera, it does not recognize and begin a firmware update.
The mobile device warns me that I need to do an firmware update within the next three days, but does not recognize the latest firmware copied to the SD card in the camera.
Has anyone else had this problem?

did you copy WM610_FW_V01.02.00.16.BIN into the root (top level) area of your SD card?  and did you delete all any other files?

mine downloaded as a xxx.ZIP file, that i had to unzip to get the .BIN ..  (also included the instructions inside the ZIP

I did copy the BIN file within the DCIM folder and outside the DCIM folder. Either way didn't seem to make a difference.  I formatted the SD card, then replaced and formatted with a new card.  Doesn't seem to make any difference.

Steve, sorry I don't know solution, but have similar problem.   My firmware update actually started to work, and got to 93% before it hung up.  I left it run for an hour, but it never completed.  Also tried to update remote controller, but it did not start the firmware update.  
    Am now getting a status message "Firmware not compatible, please update the firmware."
    I would like to force it to do a firmware update, without the automatic dji app prompt, but do not know how to do that.

I am also getting Firmware not compatible, please update the firmware occasionally, but then it switches back to ready.  The drone flies fine, and seems stable but it keeps warning me to update software.

Check the TXT file see what it says mine locked up on install as well. I powered it down and restarted it with no update status at all displayed on the droid app so I had no idea what the hell was going on as well.
DJI needs to get this firmware right asap ..
So check TXT file  you'll see Result success or result cancel. Both of these mean the firmware is up to date.

Try this:
Format card while in the camera then load the bin file on the card on comp then  put it in the inspire and power it up let it sit and cycle appox 15 mins..Pull card read txt file. Watch light green  or a yellow flashing light is good  depending on gps or atti mode sensed.

I so was wanting to run this via the IOS app this droid app is much different via the air craft status info displayed.
Is it true the droid app gets no IOS?? Man that's not cool I like using coarse lock for fly by cam shots not GPS.

Hit the arrow to the left of the air craft status option in the app and if the next page is blank you need not to update all items needed to be updated will be displayed on that page in the app.
Lack of info on the android app is unsettling ..

I found this info backed up on a inspire FB page today via a screen shot of a chat via a DJI rep.
Let us know what yah find out please hope this helps as I just figured this all out as well the other day.

There is something in the android firmware that locks up the download and wont let the inspire restart like the apple firmware in many videos shows. I feel that's where mine hung up so I restated it and let it sit and it completed the firmware upload without any status etc,,,like fumbling in the dark getting confirmation on all this stuff its quite frustrating.

Thanks everyone.  My Inspire has updated.  It is now showing up to date.  I think it was updating when I had it powered on, just was not getting any status updates, no dialog boxes.  Must have been updating in the background.  All is good

Steve, Great to hear that you have successfully updated the firmware. Have you notice the beeping sound produced from the gimbal, it indicates that upgrade is in the progress.

I did not notice the beeping.  Is it possible that it could have been updating during flight.  Showed up to date after a 15 minute flight.

Check txt file  it will read result success or cancel if so its current.

Good news I confirmed all this via downloading the IOS app on this forum and now running IOS and see the notification firmware updated unlike the android app which give you no status or info


I pad mini 2 works like a charm love the apple app android is iffy ay best.

Trick is not to think its over and leave it  powered up for at least 45 if it locks up etc,and repower it up and let it sit for 15 mins firmware will restart and load. Android app showed no status what so ever that was frustrarting as it beeped away for 25 mins then just flashed red for 45 mins total.

u r already in latest firmware from the log.

Good stuff guys and a short fall of the android app..
Android app=Bad,lame ,weak,none,zero air craft status data on screen for flyer to confirm for preflight ..
