If you crash your drone in salt water, it won't be worth saving

You need an altitude triggering(when over water) flotation wrap. You probably also want an RF-V16 gps tracker.

I also don't think that's recommendable to fly over an off-limits area, park or not

Some people are lucky enough where they were in signal range, so they knew last coordinates.... now, over water all bets are off....
You know, if the DJI was filled with an inflated bladder of air, i bet it would be enough to keep if floating if it crashed into water.. but then again, such a thing would impede airflow used to cool all the components...
Maybe they'll do something like that in the future, just to aid recovery in water.....

And before you call BS...a friend with a Vision Plus who lives on the water and flies over water a lot bought one and it does exactly as described.   His bird's battery let him down over water.   It landed on smooth water.   No damage.   It didn't even get wet enough to do any damage.   But all it is is floats that you can buy at a pool store....and some quick release clips.

After losing my last drone, I got a Trackimo after shelling out all the money for a P3 Pro. It seems to be right on after a few minutes. I attach it to a gimbal guard.
