Taking the plunge now and updating.  I'm pleased to see the Activetrak altitude adjustment update, does this mean the P4 will maintain altitude whilst tracking a subject down or uphill?

Is DJI Crazy??...By releasing This FW and adding additional complexity on top of an already broken GO App is a Certain Recipe for Disaster..

The last firmware was forced. And i read somewhere that the Dji policy says that if you don't update.. you will brake the "warranty".

just did the update...  and I think, repeat, "I think" the weak signal is fixed. more testing requiredfalse alarm, the version 2.8.2 app still causes weak signal, maybe a bit better, but my other Ipad is only at 2.7 something and never loses signal.

I upgraded using the DJI Assistant 2 software connected to my pc and the upgrade went very smooth.  Haven't flown it yet, weather is not that great right now.

Just updated my Phantom 4! I think it just updated the Battery software too. First thing I noticed is that the Gimbal squeak during startup is now gone!!! but the video feed pixelation after taking a photo still remains. The new feature of turning off the LED lamps while taking Photos/Videos works amazingly at Night flights! Will update further on the automatic height adjustment of the activetrack tomorrow if the weather permits

DJI does not know. The intention of the FW update is to ask the consumer for that.

Not until the new ios dji go app is released, very soon I understand......

until then turn off HW decode and toggle channel selection back and forth from auto to custom.

So far so good:-) took 4 tries/restarts to get it to update successfully but nothing new there.
seems to have fixed the gimbal tilt:-)
range issues seem better but wasn't testing that so cant say for sure.
seems more stable
will have to run a few more batteries threw to tell for sure

just remember to reset your RTH Alt (defaults to 30M) after update and i would run the calibrate IMU

Tested... This is NOT HELP THE IMAGE TRANSFER PROBLEM!

Firmware updated, push the camera button and 5sec "Weak image transfer signal" - i move the camera and terrible pixeling and green bars etc...

Updated and visual sensors calibrated. Letting cool outside before doing IMU & Gimbal calibrations. Then Compass and RC sticks/gimbal wheel calibration.
Using 2.8.1 at present.

No. The weak image transmission signal problems caused with DJI GO app 2.8.2, is not fixed with this upgrade.
I have just tested it and the image problem is still there.

DJI must do something before we start returning drones back.

NO. JUST TESTED IT AND WEAK IMAGE SIGNAL ISSUE WITH DJI GO APP 2.8.2 IS STILL THERE.

The New App will be released soon for the correction of Loss Signal, it still records flawlessly tho. I turned off my decoder and seems to work best. The Problem Im having is the new Hardware would not upgrade on my Mac so with that being said Im upgrading on my iPad and it has now been going on 99% updating for the last 15 minutes www.machtvplus.us

I have to say, I'm a bit disappointed that the updates don't address what I believe is a far more pressing issue than changing a notification tone. None of the features and bug fixes render the craft unuseable, but the weak video downlink issue introduced in DJI GO 2.8.2 does.

This does not help the growing, uneasy perception that DJI is not very in tune with it's community.
