I had the same error message, running the app version 9.2 on an iPad mini 2.  Was able to land with no other "issues" but disconcerting none the less.

Pintpoint i have the exact same setup, iPad mini 2 running iOS 8.1.3, app 0.9.2

My theory is there is a error in flight recording since i cannot access user center part of the app.

I tried everything i could think of, closed the app, restarted my iPad. But didnt work.

I also had this in simulator mode before I "took off". The controller was making a right racket!

I power cycled everything and all appeared good again....

Simulator mode? Yeah it's STILL snowing...

Restart the aircraft and the old data will be erased automatically.

I had this error on a flight with out a memory card. It came in when the low battery warning should have. Did u guys have you memory cards in

I too saw this MC error with I had a LOW battery and i was already landed and on the bench, then i powered off the Inspire and Turned it back on and it went away and all i saw was the low battery warning, blinking RED LED on Inspire 1, but it all looked OK. I did not fly because of the low battery.. I will be watching for this when i fly again on a full charge. I also had a sd card in the Inspire, plenty of space after taking some videos on the flight.

On the earler FW 14, I was the mc data on the sd card, but with 16 FW, I dont see this data on the ad card now. Why? How do you pull this data off inspire? Using the pc and terminal settings Usb ? What settings on the pc?

Message to DJI - OK brand new Inspire connected to IPAD and had the error MC DATA ERROR (in red text top centre of screen) I flew anyway and all behaved beautifully - restarted as app instructions suggested and still there. recharged all batteries now and its still there?  What is the solution?  Standing by.

As Amber stated, power cycle the Inspire and you should be fine.  This is the Flight Data recording SD card that is on the FC not in the camera.  You can look at the status of the card by clicking on the mode icon, and then Advanced.  The last entry is for the black box.  You can connect your computer to the usb port in the tail and a mass storage device will appear.  That is the SD card in question.

No, it won't affect your flight. Just the flight recorder will empty itself that re-write data.
