I think you can turn of OA, I didn't try it yet but I'm sure you can just like the P4. I'll try in the morning and let you know the OA enabled speed and OA disabled speed.

My test will not be the same as when you get your Mavic, this pre-production model flew the same speed with OA on/off/
I'm guessing the production versions will be the same as the P4.

yes currently i has been proven that overall mavic is better than the phantom 4 so unless dji pulls something revolutionary for the phantom line that the mavic cannot support the phantom line will be over. if mavic also gets 360 obstacle avoidance its game over for phantom...

i agree i wanted to pre-order it right away but i am a little hesitant after what happened with the inspires z3 camera. i think ill wait a year to make sure all the bugs are smoothed out.

i really wanted to get a mvic to test it and do some reviews but after what happened with casey's drone i really doubt that they will give drones away. but i did here the build quality is amazing.

I'm fairly certain that Casey losing the Mavic could have totally been prevented with some preflight planning.But yes, there are not a lot of Mavic's out there.

Ken is the tiny size of the camera why the quality is not as good?

the quality is actually just as good as the phantom 4. only difference is that the phantom for has wider lens. The reason many people have gotten bad results with the mavic is because they did not focus the camera.

All cameras have "depth of field". Some are fixed and some are adjustable. Personally I much prefer the option of being able to change the depth of field to suit the subject material proximity.

When you take off just focus at something in the distance and then your good to go for the rest of your flight.
Now if you were doing any close proximity flying like power line inspections or something like that for 1/2 the flight and landscape photos/video for the rest of the flight then you would have to refocus.

Another great Mavic review.

These guys seem to like it! There's not much new here that we didn't already know, but to have the opinion from a professional perspective, rated against anything else on the market in this category of drone and give it a "9.8 out of 10" is very reassuring. On a technical basis, this is the first review where the focusing of the camera has been demonstrated working from close up to infinity (7' 30") and answers the question of how changes in focus affect the image. It looks like these changes are incredibly smooth and don't immediately jump from one distance setting to another. This is great news!

if you look at specs  1) Phantom and Mavic have the same sensor size, 2) aperture is 2.8 and 2.2 respectively. Which means Mavic should have better low light performance and smaller depth of field. It's a trade of. If you want bigger DOF just put a black cup on it with a small hole.
