So I put in my Mavic order but didnt get the care plan.  Can I get it after the purchase or does it have to be done at the time of purchase only?

You can't order yet because you will need to have your SN number but have to order within 48 hours of activation, I got this info from dji chat line hope this helps.

For everyone purchasing the Mavic, I highly recommend the DJI Care Refresh.
It's a no-brainer, $99 and $79 for your first replacement aircraft and $129 for your second. I'd say that's a pretty awesome insurance policy.

In what length of time? I'm sure it expires in time so how long does it cover your Mavic. $99 for first and $129 for the second. Is that what we pay for the replacements? Also, what is the cost of the policy?

€119 in Europe think it's about $100 it last fo 12 months.

it's a 12 month policy and you really should purchase it when you receive your Mavic before flying it. But I think you have 48hrs after activating.
You pay $99 up front, if you accidentally crash your Mavic (read the terms) you send the aircraft in and it's evaluated. You will be sent the invoice, you can choose to pay for it or pay $79 for a replacement. And the 2nd time around is the same thing but it's $129.
You have a choice to pay the invoice amount if you want. If the bill is under $100, I'd just pay it and save the first $79 replacement in case you really smash it up.

It can be either. BUT if refurbished, it will operate and look as new.

Wherever you purchase it from, the closest repair center from there is where it would have to be sent to.
If you purchased in the US and then went to another country, it can only be serviced in the US under warranty or DJI Care Refresh. You can send it to your closest DJI repair center but you would have to pay for the repair.

It doesn't cover lost aircraft - even if it's DJI software or hardware that causes it. It doesn't cover aircraft that have landed in water - even if DJI software or hardware causes it. It doesn't cover much more than you crashing the drone "accidentally" and then they'll try to wheedle out of it saying you fly irresponsibly. Insurance, which this is, is a numbers games and for the broker relies on minimising claims.

Not true, if there's a crash and it's proven that something malfunctioned which caused the crash into water it still may be covered under warranty.

Think you might be right there Peter, warranty would cover any malfunction caused by manufacturing/softwear, dji care refresh is basically for accidental damage, peace of mind, which is a nice comfort to have, I think people will still have to be nervous flying close to or over water..

The Care Refresh is for pilot error, the warranty is for manufacture issues.
Buy DJI Care Refresh and you are covered both ways.

If it was pilot error and you crashed in the water DJI will not cover you under warranty or Refresh. But if there was a proven malfunction they could not have been avoided which caused it to crash into the water then it's possible it could be a warranty repair.

I'm with you 100% on all those points.

It seems like it just covers you if you're a bad pilot and fly it into stuff, or if you're careless enough to trash it by banging it around in transport.

My main concern is loss or damage for a problem that's out of my control. For me the real exception is if I planned on ever flying with the goggles.

Loss or damage that's out of your control is covered by dji warranty, 95% of all crashes or damage caused to drones is caused by human error, and that's what Mavic care refresh is for, overall it looks like a good deal to me.

Yes, it's an incredible deal. Accidentally smash your Mavic into a tree and get up to 2 replacements for just over $300.

I'm assuming you have to have a Mavic to turn in right. What happens if you can't find it like Casey Niestat?

So when my Mavic arrives, can I just go to the DJI store online and register it or do I have to do it via the Go App?  Still waiting for mine to arrive, but starting a checklist of things I need to do before I get it flying (like register it with FAA).

So definelty a no-brainer lol but i had a question hoping i can get some gelp on here . recently ran my mavic pro into a tree not on porpous. But did damage my gimbal. Got it as a present but they nit purchase care. Would i be able to send it to my nearest dji store for replacement ir repair?

Yes, since it's not a warranty repair you can take it to your nearest dealer that repairs DJI products. But they may not have Mavic parts. IF you contact support you can have the DJI Repair Center in California repair it. They will email you a prepaid shipping label.

Hi Guys, I am a newbie and just purchased my Mavic Pro this past week from Best Buy.  I haven't opened the drone yet, but was wondering since I bought the drone from a different store, can I still purchase the DJI Care Plan.
