I was just wondering if the mavic pro will have a mavic "standard" coming out (like what dji did with the phantom 3 line). It would be great if they could have a version that uses lightbridge because then the range is less (therefore costs) and it would be more than adaquet for everyday people....

Who knows if other versions would come out.

I would say they are or else they would have just called it "DJI Mavic" and left off the "Pro" designation like the P4. They'll want to capitalize on the everyday newbie with cheaper and less feature rich models.

I've heard the version sold without a controller referred to as simply "Mavic"

Bring on the mavic sport! strip out all the sensors and weighty gubbins' carbonise the body and strap 8 phantom 4 motors onto it, 4 on top 4 underneith each arm.. 120mph... got you thinking now DJI haven't I. ;o)

A DJI FPV racer would be pretty awesome wouldn't it. I suggested that to them 1 year ago. The popularity of FPV racing in my eyes is only getting bigger. I hope DJI gets into that side of drones as well.

And by trying to figure out DJI's plans, we will know when we should stop spending on drinks and save for the "Innovation" of DJI!

Most important of all - I will know when to start soft-convincing words to my wife so that I won't have to hide such DJI "Innovation" under my pillow when I get it!

When I ordered my DJI S800 many years I thought I could play it off as a few hundred dollar item and my fiance had no reason to be upset.
They she saw it assembled on the dining room table one day and I got in trouble as by the size of it she knew it was much more than the few hundred dollars that I told her it was
But the Mavic, you can play of off and even hide it under your pillow

LOL that S800 was just an impressive beast! I can imagine the trouble you faced the moment she stared at it on the dining table!

At this moment other than my pillow, I also need to figure out if I can find a place under my bed for another DJI "Innovation" that is about to be released! You know, Ken, I have recently figured out DJI's plan of imminently releasing another "Innovation" which can't be hide under the pillow.

I just can't find a place under my bed, so I have already started my soft-lobbying words to my wife on how she can fly with me controlling the gimbal get the scenes she wants whilst I control the aircraft with simultaneous FPV video downlink!

I remember in one of there interviews dji said that they have thousands of engineers and have technology 2 years ahead of what we have now. thats why most likely there will be no company that can compete against dji.

yes when i saw that they made racing drone motors i got really excited. if they could make an affordable racing drone with affordable fpv goggles it would be amazing how many people would buy that.

Usually DJi does something for Black Friday but I doubt anything would be offered on the Mavic or accessories. But you never know.

thats great! i hope the next one will have 360 obstacle avoidance...and maybe even have detachable cameras so we could put thermal cameras on it. lastly i am wishing for 45 min battery life. i go on trips often and i don't have time to charge the drone so having some extra flight time would be really helpful...
