I have been reading through the various threads and found another person comment on the Mavic board mentioning that they were a beginner and if anyone had any tips (I'm in the same boat, I just ordered the Mavic yesterday). Someone in response posted a list of things to do before they got their drone, such as downloading helpful apps and registering with the FAA. I can't find where this was at - can anyone point me in the right direction? I know it is on this board somewhere. Thank you in advance

1/take out dji care refresh $100

2/ read the Manual all of it

3/ look at all the tutorials

4/look a you tube videos

5/do all the firmwear/softwear downloads

6/make sure your battery is fully charged and remote

7/ calibrate imu

8/ you can also practice on flight simulator when you get your Mavic

9/ calibrate compass

10/ start flying in beginner mode

I'm sure I left out something's which you will find in manuals and tutorials, also you should get some info on this forum when people get and start flying there Mavics

As for the DJI Care - can we buy that once we have the Mavic in hand? I ordered it from Carolina Dronz, so not sure when I will get it. I heard you have 48 hours to buy the Care, is that from the time you receive the Mavic?

Yes johnlega you can it says on the website you must purchase within 48 hours of activating the Mavic, I presume they will know exactly when you activate.

Check again? I believe they are having a forum issue.

Congratulations on ordering the Mavic, it's an extremely high technological piece of equipment and needs to be thoroughly understood before use. The online and app manual should be coming up very soon.
In the meantime you can read the full P4 manual in the Academy section of the app as a lot of the P4 features and functions carry over to the Mavic. Download the app and from the home page, top right corner is a graduation hat. That takes you into the Academy section. There's already tutorial videos there.
Also subscribe to the DJI Support YouTube page as they are always adding new videos.
