Thanks for the info, these types of "delays" can not be accidental because it happens every new product roll out. Very strange business strategy. Wouldn't go over too well here in New York.

I would keep my enthusiasm and patience after reading some magic words such as 'we're sorry', 'please apologize' and receiving DJI Credits which can be used for purchases in the DJI Online Store as a minimal compensation for the mislead date announced. My Osmo Mobile order is pending on your next steps.

I love this, don't rush DJI people. If you rush them and the give you a crap product, then you still complain. If you don't have a Mavic, I don't have a Mavic, no one has a Mavic yet, what's the problem. Just look at it this way, no matter what...in the next few weeks you'll have one of the greatest drones ever created. I know a lot of people here just want a Mavic just because, and when they get it they still won't know how to use it correctly.

Oh just wait after everyone gets their Mavic, all the YouTube Mavic crash videos are to come.

Wish I had more info for you guys. I know what it's like to be where you are.

Im not really that upset about the delay.  The only thing I dont like is how they charge for the item prior to shipment.  Most large companies charge when the item ships.  DJI should follow this in my opinion.

In case you haven't been reading the posts, this isn't really about "not getting my toy".  It's about a complete lack of "meaningful" updates to why they're not shipping.  People aren't upset because they don't have them yet, they're upset because they were told one thing and then that wasn't followed through with and there is no explanation as to why they were lied to.

I absolutely agree with this.  If DJI had any clue about customer support they would give customers that pre ordered the DJI Refresh Care policy or something tangible instead of empty promises.  

They should have shipped one, ten or a hundred by now......I'm wondering if DJI discovered that the Mavic spontaneously bursts into flames like the Samsung Galaxy did?

We are NOT rushing them, its not our problem, they promised a delivery date and they failed to complete by the dead-line so its not called rushing them, I also feel that you might be an employee of DJI

So DJI created this thread and provided no new useful information? What is the delay? Why are customers being charged but not updated on when the product will be shipped/delivered and told what the actual problem is?

I am sure so many people wouldn't be cancelling their orders and filing claims against DJI if they would just be honest with their customers. What an odd way to run a business.

I don't understand why people still order direct. It's not worth the hassle. Even if you get the product a few days before the stores, you get the first batch which is usually buggy like the P4 for example, you have a smaller return/exchange window, and you are charged a month or more before you even get the product... I do not see the upside. I would rather help support a retailer and have more flexibility.

Everyone needs to cool their jets. A pre-order is a pre-order. This is pretty standard stuff. Even with the Oct. 15 projected release date, I was pretty realistic about the fact that it could be mid to late November before I saw a shipping confirmation. I'm glad they have my money. I'd be nervous about my place in line if they didn't. They have a monumental task to meet a monumental demand for a spectacular product. I'll keep working with my P4 and P3Pro and rejoice when my Mavic finally gets here. If my history with DJI preorders holds accurate, we'll start seeing them around the 15th of November.Cancel your order now and you may not get one until March. Chill, people.

It was not a projected ship date like you said. It was the ship date they committed to by telling everyone shipping starts on Oct 15th.

if it were a public traded company, I am sure that they would take special consideration on this public outcry. This might have been one of the worst preorder experience in the tech industry, at least against today's business standards. They have a killer product, but it is sad that the consumers, I being one of them, being hijacked to the product.

I think you weren't around for the Oculus Rift disaster. The DJI Mavic issue has to become much worse before it deserves a top spot in 2016.

I see everyone is having fun.  Can I dispel some rumors?  You can believe me or not.  What I am trying to do is inject some reality in the discourse here.  There are no manufacturing issues.  The issue is that DJI produced a product that was wildly popular.  Beyond anything that we have produced to date.  If there was a hardware issue don't you think that all the pre and production units in the hands of reviewers would have had the "fatal flaw".  No that is not the case.  I have asked that my preproduction unit be returned to me.  I had it on loan for additional photos and videos.  It is more important that I have it now.  I will have it tomorrow.  Some question the post that was made earlier by Ken.  He did post some information that was internal.  We all make mistakes.  What did the post say.  We are not going to do more advertising, we are not going to have reviewers post more reviews.  Ask yourself this question, when you have an overflow of orders do you continue to fuel the fire for more orders?  No you try to slow them down while you continue to ramp up additional production.  If you ordered and want to cancel your order then please do so.  This may not be the craft for you.  You can file a case with the BBB but to what result.  We are sorry we failed to meet a delivery date.  That is what we will tell them.  We will ship when we have sufficient supplies of product.  We have continued to try and update our dealers with a ship date.  If you ordered from them, then check to see what they have to say.  If you ordered from DJI we have made a statement.  I will restate it here in case you may have missed it.

Whether its a preorder or not, the shipping date is the EXPECTED shipping date, (as stated in the Dji keynote being October 15th). Even preordering from Nintendo and other resellers while the amiibo craze was going on, the ship date was.... in fact the ship date despite others not getting in on the "fist batch" preorders. This (mavic pro) is the only preorder I have ever made that was not justified. EVER. Obviously it's not "pro" service.

Nintendo is not the only preorder i have done either.
