No...  Their store is down in prep for new product launch today.

Looks like the other thread has been closed.  Hey DJI Ken or Tahoe Ed, can you guys get some info please?  The gizmodo article makes it seem as if DJI is not able to produce the Mavic in a reasonable time frame.

I believe the email they're referencing in the article has been confirmed fake.
HOWEVER, there is nothing wrong with the rest of the article, so if this gets removed...

This is the line that gets me

"DJI did confirm that full production of the Mavic Pro has not started but said the company was doing everything it could to get production ramped up as quickly as possible."


This confimation tells us that the earlier statements made were intentional misleading and false.  It speaks to business principles and integrity, something I value.

How can DJI confirm full production has not started when they have this plastered on the order status page?
"Since unveiling the Mavic Pro, we’ve had amazingly strong global demand. Production is in full swing, and we will be fulfilling orders as fast as we can."

So they are flat out lying directly to our faves

Well remember Apple is right in the middle of a launch event right now for the Macbook Pro and other items so they frequently "suspend" parts of their site during these events to enable the new pages to be available once the event ends.  So look again in a bit.

KEN is the only one i have seen in front of this and albeit confidence is tanking harder than BP i cant understand why you guys are not being upfront with us?

Apple's online store is always closed during Keynotes. There is one currently happening now at http://www.apple.com/apple-events/october-2016/.

It depends what they mean by full production.  Maybe they only have a few people working on it.  I think a video or picture of the manufacturing plant or even a picture showing the mavic boxed and ready to go would be proof enough.

I'm sure other tech sites will pick this article up and forums and twitter and facebook... Very nice publicity. Hope DJI will learn that communication is KEY! Telling a product is fantastic, is great. Telling us we can really buy it, is another.

Could be, that they tested so many Mavics and destroyed all the props by crashing them, but still shipped some with leftover props, because they were out of test-mavics. Just a theory  

Is there any ground for a class action lawsuit? This is ridiculous and im afraid to cancel my order as I'll lose out on foreign exchange.

You're ordering a product from a Country not known for open communication.

It is so sad what DJI cannot fulfill the promises

While we're checking the origin of the email, even if it was from a DJI employee what they stated has no bearing in reality. Are we allocating between dealers and direct customers? That's only natural but our priority remains to satisfy our customers.. Did we only ship 50 units? No that is a total fabrication. We have had to ramp up our production differently than expected to meet the demand that extended beyond what we planned for launch. We're grateful for the customers that are sticking by us while we get this sorted out so we get the best product out. Revel in those that have theirs and please be patient if you are still waiting for yours. You will have yours soon.​

This was 100% COMPLETELY avoidable and very unfortunate.  In my years of being in business and doing customer service all people want is an apology, the truth and here is what we are going to do about it.  
I am glad Ken is doing everything he can within his power.
