Just wondering what peoples thoughts are on Android devices for piloting the Inspire 1.  I, like many other customers, am sitting here looking at my dji inspire 1, not being able to use it because I have IOS devices.  I'm looking for a device that can handle the job, and won't break the bank.  (The Inspire already did!!)  anyways,  any suggestions would be appreciated.  I'm frustrated!

I'm IOS, too. However I do recall elsewhere on this forum positive comments about an NVIDIA tablet, One post even had a video comparing iPad to NVIDIA.

I found more about the NVIDIA...it's the SHIELD model

$299 for 16GB Wifi-only version. As tablets go this reasonable, especially when you need fast video for the Inspire. There's a 32GB version with Wifi plus 4G AT&T ready, but i nixed it because AT&T reception not good here and I don't need 32GB (I have a 128 GB iPAD Air 2 waiting in the wings).

"NVIDIA® Tegra® K1 192 core Kepler GPU, 2.2 GHz ARM Cortex A15 CPU with 2GB RAM
Display: 8-inch 1920x1200 multi-touch Full HD display
Audio: Front facing stereo speakers, dual bass reflex port with built-in microphone
Storage: 32 GB (WiFi+4G LTE) $399  / 16 GB (WiFi-only) $299"

PS: I just now ordered the NVIDIA SHIELD 16GB from Amazon; thanks for asking your question because it got me weighing all the options and this seemed like the best choice (for me anyway...I need two tablets and ordering a 2nd iPAD when there is no officially approved Pilot App in Apple's App store made no sense)

Thanks for the info jessecarlane,  I have had two friends lend me there old android devices to try and get it started, but im afraid both of them are older models and don't want to co-operate.  Guess I'll just get some more practice time in with my training quads until I can either use my IOS products or I find a reasonable alternative.  I will check out this NVIDIA SHIELD though!  thanks again!

You can get the DJI-approved Nexus 7 (2013 model) in 16GB flavor for $196.44 from Amazon right now.
