Hi all.

My P3P has been fine up until I did the upgrade to V1.10.0090 today.

Everything passed according to the logs, so I also did an IMU and gimbal calibration (as I normally do after a firmware upgrade).

The controller has been updated to the latest version (1.8.0) and I have the latest DJI Go version.

The aircraft powers on, connects to the controller ok.  Can do compass calibrations etc.

When I try to start the motors I get:

"ESC Status Error",  and the motors do not start.  Randomly on some occasions the motors do start, and seem to operate as normal (throttle up/down, turns etc) on the ground.  I am not tempted to take this airborne until I am satisfied with a fix solution.

I have tried to downgrade the firmware to the previous version with no success.  This has included using different memory cars formatted in the aircraft and copying a fresh copy of the previous firmware to the card.  I have also tried reinstalling the current version of firmware. I have nitiated the manual firmware load by holding the RC link button on boot, but only managed to get the current version of firmware to reinstall, not the previous version.

I am now screwed as I had some work lined up for tomorrow which I won't be able to do.

I found reference to this same issue by someone on PhantomPilots who posted yesterday.

I suspect there are issues with this firmware release and I would advise no one to install it until this is looked at by DJI.

Sorry to hear about the issue, after refreshing the firmware, the error persisted, right?
It's never crashed or hard landing before?
Restarting it for several times makes no sense?
Would you please check the upgrading log?

2.Enter the root directory of the SD card, then find the hidden folder MISC and enter it. There is LOG folder in it.
3.The LOG txt file is under the LOG folder.

The firmware cannot be downgrade from 1.10 according to the release notes. I've tried and it fails.

The logs show that the update from 1.09 to 1.10 was successful. No errors recorded.

The drone powers on, records video and all other functions work as normal, just the ESC error prevents it flying.

Never been crashed or had a hard landing.  Always meticulously looked after

What can I do?

Same here, exactly the same. This firmware is bunch of crap, sorry guys. I wanted to sell the drone, but I had to cancel it due to this error.

when I turn it makes the whole procedure and flashes green, the tablet app says "ready to go (vision) but do not start the engines.
the engines start only in automatic takeoff
before the upgrade worked fine

I have the exact same issue , all perfect with 1.96 as soon as I upgraded with success to 1.10 have that esc status error, out of 20 attempts to start I may get 1. Or 2 starts , dji said to send it in for repair , this sux as firmware bricked my phantom

my phantom 3 professional today is finally the party seems that everything is ok. this week I will make a test flight we hope it goes well

This issue is becoming quite wide spread.  There are many posts about it on other forums.  All experiencing identical symptoms.

DJI needs to release a firmware patch to fix this ASAP!.  I was about to drop huge coin on an Inspire 2.......  not so sure now!

Same problem here. No issues before update. No errors during the upgrade. Repeated the upgrade, where txt file shows that the current fw is the same as the fw on the card. But the bird is bricked, mentioning an error with the ESC. I hope this can be fixed with a bug fix in the firmware...

People had problems with v1.9.60 too (Including me). But you could reinstall v1.8.80.

If you install v1.10.90 and have problems you have to send it to them and pay for them to fix it.

I had the exact same issue... might be a coincidence, but was able to start it by rotating the motors manually before pressing the start button.

Had same issue with the new FW... Killed my drone.. Had to send in for repair..  Now I have it back and on latest firmware...continuous signal loss errors and video reception is horribly choppy...this is my first drone and I'm really disappointed....

I just unboxed my p3p for Christmas YESTERDAY!!! That damn firmware update kicked my drones A$$. WTF man....? How do you sell a nearly $1000 product and can't release firmware that works, or offer a fix in a timely fasion? My performance is now identical to others....after a mere 24 hours. This is embarrassing DJI. I had high hopes, NOW all I have is a bird that won't fly.

Wow a fix. Can it be trusted? I'm staying on 1.8 lol until this all clears.

Can this version be used as a few upgrade with out using 1.10?

Simple, the firmware works for many. I'll bet the majority have no issues and they don't
go to forums and  tell everyone how well the firmware works for them.
    I don't know what the percentage of "Pass or Fail" has to be but I guess
it hasn't met what will bring change. I own two P3Pro's with no firmware issues.
    I just hope that now that the P3 Professional and Advanced have been discontinued
that DJI will continue to at least offer support for those of us that need.

   I owned an iphone 5s that stopped working after a iso update, I tried to get it repaired
by apple but they said it had a weak hardware component and the update pushed it
enough to stop working. Because it was out of warranty i tossed it in my sock draw.
Two or more years went by and several updates, last week I charged it and did updates,
now it works perfect.  I HATE UPDATES!

Yeah it's crazy. I have tried over 30 times to reflash. It's a shame there is no way to downgrade.

What update are you guys referring to?  Version 1.10.0090 or the one jbill posted above?  First time I've seen 1.11.0010 even mentioned.  It's surely not on the downloads page.

No using the one on the official forum.

My drone was working 100%, my app said there was a update so the app updated the controller no problems.

Would no longer connect to drone so I assumed I needed to update the firmware of drone.

I downloaded official firmware for my p3A followed instructions and completed the firmware update.

Now i get a esc warning. And can no longer fly.

Ok, so I wonder what version 1.11.0010 is that jbill posted?  Why doesn't DJI mention it if it's actually a fix for all these problems people are having with 1.10  

Not sure. I will wait for a reply from dji

Not sure if I still have warranty or if they courtesy fix if caused by a firmware.

I would assume they would take care of you; warranty or not.  A lot of mad drone owners out there, including me!

Some users are having this issue, don't know how many but seems quite a few,
NOTE- If you do work out getting your bird started, there is another bug in latest firmware, that users have made DJI aware of.
Seems if you use RTH, over a long distance, your bird will start flying higher & higher on the return flight, ignoring whatever you have set for max attitude, some flyers saying their bird went to over 1,000 ft. on RTH! If RTH is used, on short distances, you may notice  this issue, but on long return flights a number of users have had this happen. You can read all about this bug over at phantom pilots site. So, be careful using RTH on long return flights.

Sorry to hear that.  I was hoping DJI had a solution for this BIG problem.

I called tech support there was no tests to be done. Just need to send it it. Thank the lord I have warranty.
