Its probably best to not even try, again...I get the new fw update, but at this point I/we don't need it to be a paper weight again...So im just gonna leave it...

The aircraft firmware only has the data packages available for X3 and X5 series cameras. If you solely have a Z3 to update the aircraft with, then that would be an issue. Just to clarify, you're still on V01.09.01.40, right? The firmware for the aircraft is just removing some NFZ at this time, so you can skip it if you don't really run into NFZs normally anyway.

I have the most recent FW which is 1.09.01.40 appreciate the heads up. I will ignore the update pop up.

I have seen someone posting they only have a Z3 camera to update the Inspire 1 and the FW will not update. So I am guessing it only works with the X3 or X5 cameras right now.

DJI may want to release something for people that only have the Z3 cameras.

I'll pass the information along. Z3s as the sole camera is quite rare, so I can see how this could have been on the back burner, sort of speak.

Yes I'm one of those... sold my X3 to offset the cost of my Z3. I'm sure I can't be the only one

The Development team should be able to get something out soon. If you absolutely needed that firmware update, which I know you said you'd hold off for now, going to a dealer or a buddy who has an X3 or an X5 would be the most immediate solution until the Z3 option is released. I know it's not the most convenient, but it would be an option.

You can try the suggestion in post #11 if you really need the latest Inspire 1 firmware. Like I said before, this firmware release is just removing a few no fly zones and that's it. If this does not really apply to you based on where you normally fly, then you should be ok to just skip it for now. I know it can be annoying to have the overall status keep reminding you of the firmware update, but you could just ignore it.

This is bad as I have a very OCD thing with seeing issues on my screen before I fly But I can live with it BIGDZ looks like we are unique LOL ;)

Looking to upgrade to a X5 soon so I think I can hang 5 for a while but I put the word out for a x3 for hire

I get OCD like that too sometimes, so I feel your pain. Hopefully it will be as quick as taking off a band-aid. Getting the X5 will be a nice upgrade too.

Oh well that's tricky one! It's hard to decide between business or pleasure, but my inner overindulgence would want to have both. I can't always listen to that, though.

I also sold my X3 to buy the Z3.  Didn't think I needed to keep it in order to update the Inspire.  No reason to keep X3. Seemed redundant to me. However after reading  other fourms apparently there are issues with the recent update . > Lack of stability in wind for one. With each update my inspire has slowly transformed into a piece of furniture.  I fly my Phantom 4 pro and Mavic now. DJI hasn't screwed with the performance of those drones just yet.

If I had to do it over again, NO... it's not worth it-over priced;  I never thought the end result would be where it's at, now. Better than before,  but for what I paid, not acceptable.

It will fit on your Inspire 1 Pro , and yes,  it works with the osmo....IMO better,  than it does on the Inspire 1.... JMO though...

Ughhhh sorry to hear that. I'm debating on the X5 but I didn't even realize the Z3 was an option until recently. So, for the price I thought this would be a better option. But they get you, in order to get the Pro version without camera, they also exclude the RC, Battery and charger. So when you add it all up, I might as well just get the damn X5 Pro. Decisions, decisions. Thanks for your feedback.

Another Z3 only user here.  Can't update firmware and came here looking for answers.  Well - at least I found out what the problem is.  Are you guys getting good in focus pics with the z3 using auto camera settings?  Mine tend to look like cell phone pics from 2006.  I'm hoping its operator error so it's easy to fix.

Mine is working well, no issues. Not even transmission break up when filming in 4K (like before), wondering if minimizing the bloat ware in the original  Go App and releasing GO app 4 is the reason for this. Keep in mind, this was my second z3, the original was sent back due to the issues you mentioned.

As for fw update, I'm hoping by the next fw update one wouldn't need an x3 to perform the update.

I have an Inspire 1 v2 and I am trying to update to the newest Firmware.  As I am using DJI Go in the background with Precision mapper it will not let me fly without the newest 1.10.01.40.  So if I am reading correctly I need to update to this version with my X3 camera which has the NDVI lens on it and then switch back to the Z3.  Thanks for the help.
