I'm looking at getting one of these and found on eBay there's the original model or a newer on, dubbed the "II". Has anyone out there considered both versions and, if so, I'd appreciate knowing the pros and cons of each, as a Mavic case. Thanks!

Which Lowepro 150 aw is it? There're several models: sling, hatchback, fastback...maybe others. I have the sling 150 aw and it's great! But I'm not sure if that's the one you're looking at...

I have the LowePro slingshot edge 150 AW which is just right for me.
Video of it with the Mavic here (not my video)...

I use a Lowepro Toploader.  Really convenient when I just have the Maciv, controller, extra battery and filters.  I don't even have to take it off or swivel it around.  If I need more, I might be taking my DSLR with me which means a backpack.

I was looking at the slingshot.
I think the II model is the hatchback version!  So looks like the slingshot is the way to go (at least for me).   Thanks!

Would you still recommend the bag?

I'm still loving the bag. I've added a Marco Polo tracker and a Taco RC filter kit to what I carry, so I've filled up most of it now. But it's got absolute everything I need to fly, charge batteries, whatever.

Did you fit the drone as well as the remote controller into the lower chamber without problems?

Yup. Drone, controller, two spare batteries, the desktop charging system and multi-battery brick and the Marco Polo bug. In the top section I've got the Marco Polo transmitter, my filters in their somewhat bulky case (working on that one), a set of 3D printed windsurfer panels, some odds and ends and an iPad (not for the controller, but could be).

Like I said, that taps the bag out for space, but if I'm going out for just the day (that is, I'm not going to be charging batteries), I'll leave all the charging gear at home, which allows me to move the filters and Marco Polo transmitter to the bottom section and essentially leaves the top open for snacks, a light windbreaker, whatever.

It's tight, but oh so small...

Oh, I just found out that an IPad Air 2 won't fit in there, and the 250 aw got bad ratings for whatever reasons. So, my search will go on,
