So I bought a trackimo. I need a way to attach it to my P3S. They sell a strap for that purpose for $8.50. They want $9.00 for shipping. Im sorry but we live in a free / cheap shipping internet commerce world. I cant swallow that pill. Am I just being a curmudgin? Frustrated....

I've seen a few threads around with methods on how they applied their Trackimos, have you perused the Forum a bit yet?

I have but maybe i could look some more. Im thinking ill use some velcro tape and make my own. The one they offer doesn't look much more than that.

It looks like velcro is a popular choice. Here are threads for some that mounted Trackimos on their Inspire 1 to start with, if it works with an I1 without falling, a Phantom should be fine:

Thanks william, today i simply put a velcro patch on the top of my bird. stuck the trackimo to that and it seemed to work. Is that too simple?

I wouldnt recommend that.
1. Thats on top of the gps antenna
2. IF it falls of, it will 100% for sure hit one of the props and you will hit the ground.

I only used a couple of thick rubber bands and wrapped it around two of the aft arms so it rested on the back of the battery.

I was worried about that. I tried to find out if that is where the gps lives but i didn't have success. Im glad you responded. Ill try what you did. Can you post a pic of your setup? thanks again!

Anywhere but there, it's right on top of your drone's GPS. Like the other poster said. Somewhere below the props, the belly, the legs.

i would not recommend this kind of  set up in attaching the Trackimo device, since it has a very high possibility to fell off from your drone.

Give me a break. I've been using this setup for over a year now with over 100 flights, even had a crash once from nicking a tree branch. This thing will never come off with years of use and hundreds of more flights. Nylon tie to the gimbal guard and velcro to the gimbal guard, than also has a security line attached to the leg?
