Hello, it's a sad story and stupid decisions, any way back to the piont.
My Mavic got drowned in beer, I know it sounds stupid, but it happened.
What happened is the battery stopped working, I've ordered another one, BUT I don't know if the drone still works...
I've left it in rice for a 24h, and after that was cleaned by WD-40 (Specialist fast drying contact cleaner) so it can remove all the stickines from the beer. The remote was also wet, and it was making beeping sound for a long time, I thought that is dead, BUT it works perfectly now. It was cleaned with WD-40 as well.

My question is, is there ANY WAY to activate the drone without battery, I don't want to fly just want to see if it still works!
DJI Custumer care it's a joke...

Thank you, and Happy new year

No, I don't believe there is any way to do so. If the beer got inside the bird and the camera and gimbal you may still have some problems.

Sounds like your mavic has a bit of a drinking problem. Might be time for a intervention.

I'll make a short video so you can see the reaction of the battery...

Really sorry to hear that.  I love beer (Clown Shoes Space Cake anyone?) but I'd be devastated if it got near my Mavic.

I'm guessing the best bet is to find a fellow Swiss board member to lend you their battery to see if the bird still works?

The very best of luck to you!

WD-40 is not the best to use on your electronics! It attacks plastic and leaves a residue that will degrade the materials your Mavic is made from. You need to obtain some Electronic Cleaning Solvent, available from electronics suppliers such as RS, Maplin and the like. I would get some asap and wash the aircraft and it's electronics. The sugars in the beer will attack the PCBs and unfortunately kill it!

Depending on your country will depend on if you can buy it though as it has some ozone depleting properties.

If you read his post, he didn't use regular wd-40, he used the electrical contact cleaner which is totally different than plain ole wd-40

I'm sure there are meetings your drone can attend for this problem, perhaps a couple of weeks in rehab, hopefully all will recover, would love to see the video of how this happened,  D.A.A. HELPLINE 007007007. Lol, hope all works out for you, good luck.

Didn't think there was different WD-40's being that WD-40 was the code name given to the formula by 'Rocket' when they invented it.

"Servisol 10" , is the best i have found to date,  i have fetched race drones out of lakes and rivers, given them a good spraying of servisol 10,  a good shake and go flying again within 10 minutes,  i have seen other stuff tried but this works the best that i have seen, to the point now that i pre spray all my race drones with it just after being built, and again every month especially through the winter months of wet and mud here in the UK.

not sure if that helps but it works solid for me !
If my Mavic ever got really wet, i would try it,  my only concern is the mavic is so enclosed,  i would have to use at least a tin of it to ensure it reached all the places that the water/beer had reached LOL,  not sure if it " Reaches parts other beers cant"  LOL.

hope you are successful !

Ditto, always thought WD-40 was WD-40. Didn't know the company made an electronic contact cleaner, kinda confusing that they still label it WD-40.

I would start out with putting it in a brown bag and cover with rice. Then put in oven over low heat over night..

Then look for an electrical cleaner that displaces water.

Update guys:
The drone is working perfectly with the new battery.
Gimbal is fine, propellers are fine, I think the drone has a hidden future Water resistant
I'm going to fly...

Only one problem:
There is rice inside the drone, that i can't get it out without opening the drone.
Edit:
Yes, I did use WD-40 Contact Cleaner (some one had a link upper, the same)

The Story:
I'll tell you what happened.
One day me my wife and a friend desided to go for a fly arround. I live in Australia, rain forests are amazing for filming. So I had my drone in my backbag. My wife had hers hand bag (poncho) so she opened a beer, had half of it, and she put it back to her poncho. She deside to go to the restroom in the forest, and me witout knowing whre is the beer, grabbed her bag and put it into mine. She came back, and she asked where is my bag, I said it's in mine... She said MY BEER, i was oh know MY DRONE. When I opend the bag the drone was swiming in the beer already. Stupid story I know...
Now everything is fine

Hi guys
I have a similar problem.
I was sitting on the beach ready to take off and my mavic got a wash with sea water. I ve dried her out and all seams fine.
The only thing is, it keeps losing connection with the hand set.
I have ordered some special electrical cleaner and hope with a douching of that will hopefully sort it out.
Any advise would be great.
