I have noticed on some videos on youtube that when the x5s/x4s does the calibration dance in will rotate the camera in to portrait mode, can you take stills this way to get higher resolution panoramics?

same here - would love to have this Feature....

Does anyone know if it works taking still pictures in portrait mode with X5s now?

It doesn't make any sense that the gimbals on the Inspire 2 (either X5S and X7) set the camera to portrait only on the initial calibration when is powered on but there is no option to take portrait stills with it. It would be so great to be able to shoot portrait as well.
