Hi. Stuart here in Canberra. I'm experienced with RC cars, but the purchase of my P4 last August was my entry into the sky. I now also own a P4P (early Christmas present to myself), so can share the fun more easily now.

Tony from Sydney. Was planning on getting a Mavic but bought a P3S to learn on a less expensive trial unit. Perhaps i'll wait until they sort out the Mavic issues (and where would i get one anyway :-) )

Always seems to be a dilemma with DJI when they launch something new....
1 can they deliver it?
2 can they supply battery's for it
3 can they send it with the correct props?
4 are they going to treat you like sh!t after you spend all you hard earned cash with them?

And you got to ask yourself the question? .... DO YOU REALLY WANT TO PAY THEM TO BE THEIR BETA TESTER???

Oi...your just down the road from me. Im up at Daguilar and fly around the Beerburrum State forest...only 5 mins from my house. I use my big Maxxrange out there....nothing to hit or drop on if phantom fails.....except for a pine tree !!!! Cheers Jenee!!

I hear you !! When another company catches up with them they better start worrying because their greedy Pompous attitude towards their cutomers to date will let them down severely. Greedy business culture....all for one...and all for the MONEY $$$$

Jenee I have the Phantom 3 Advanced. We should get together early one morning for a fly before it gets too hot!! Dont worry I dont bite Im 55yo and married. What Phantom do you have?? Went for a fly this morning at 6.30am...3 batteries later I went home....good fun !! (I dont work Wednesdays)

Looking forward to that. Bloody Mavic Any probs since the big purchase?? Have been putting off buying one due to all the problems. Would be good though...I carted my Advance out to Ayers rock and the Olgas a few months back...the case to pack it all in is BIG!!

Thats good...for me!! So when I buy one you can fill me in on the do's and dont's!! Ive got my Advanced on V1.9.60 and my RC on V1.6 and I either use the Go App V3.00 or Litchi and Im not updating to anything as it flies so sweet!! . Its a relaxing hobby for me...hope its the same for you.

Depends on where you are in Sydney. I imagine Sydney is pretty restricted in terms of flying? I used to live on the northern beaches. Somewhere out on the spit at Palm Beach would give you plenty of room. Once you get going, the Hawkesbury and particularly places like Coal and Candle Creek with those sandstone formations would be fantastic. Otherwise you could do a drone 'photo bomb' on Home and Away. They were always filming at the beach.

Not that it helps that much: I get most of my drone and GPS stuff from Johnny Appleseed GPS. They are advertising the Mavic with "On Order: ETA February 2017"

Flew on the latest firmware this morning and "not happy Jan".
Going to try and go back to the previous firmware. The problem is no many in cold climates complaining about issues that is being blamed on the cold that they may have forgotten about us Aussies flying in the heat.

Yep...horses for courses...find a setup to suit and stick with it as long as you can. Was not happy about being forced to update the Go App....I did try it and had no probs ( yet ) but usually fly with Litchi. Was 45c at my place last Sunday.......a few beers disappeared out of my fridge on that day

Have been trying to hang out for the Crystalsky but have given up and bought an Ipad Mini 4. This is brilliant for the Mavic and I love the bigger screen. No more issues with the app suddenly closing which was happening on my phone.
The only issue now is the very sensitive OA but now that I know what trips it, I can work around it.
Otherwise very happy. Flew yesterday but gave it away when I was getting high wind warnings and it was very gusty.

Xcellent. Yeh Im waiting for the Crystalsky too. Im hapy with my Nvidia K1 until it comes out. Its gunna be a windy week for us I think......damn...prob no flying for me on Wednesday morn!! Might go for a glasshouse mountains dirt bike ride instead..if its not pouring rain. Catcha soon. Cheers!

Hi everyone, I'm Wayne from Cronulla NSW and have only 3 days experience under my belt so far.

First video was pretty jerky, so been trying to steady my fingers a little more and changed couple of settings after watching a thousand youtube videos on settings. Also been trying to learn how to drive Powerdirector to be a little more professional with my videos. I've even figured how to upload to youtube so I'll gradually get there I guess. I'm retired now and as a 60yo  'Grey Nomad' I want to use my P4 to capture some memories of our beautiful country.

Spent last week in Lake Tabourie on the south coast of NSW so took the opportunity to capture record the beach outlook.

Anyway, happy to have contact with you guys and girls
