Does anyone found a source to buy the battery charging cable alone?
I am making my own charger, and don't want to splice my cable.

Sounds risky to me (and I'm an EE)  :-)

Hehe I thought about this but it looks like dji has put work into the charge logic on the battery itself (limit amperage from 4.15-4.2). I'm not sure if they trickle charge though at the top, but my battery doesn't get hot. Seems a good job, but time will tell.

If my battery ever does need replacing, think take it apart and put in 3 king kong 18650. Might get over 30 mins

Don't forget  the battery contains embedded "smartware" of some kind.

I don't see any risks... Al the logic is inside the battery. All external chargers are merely power supplies providing 12.5-13V.
Stock DJI power supply (charger) limits the current at about 3A. But there folks out there putting 8A through and the battery doesn't choke on it.

It may void the warranty if the original charger is not used.

I think on further examination, you're correct.  DJI seems to have put all the charge logic into the battery, and it appears that the charger itself is a simple power source. I would feel comfortable doing either mod (after all the warranties have expired).  BUT...I probably wouldn't ... maybe on a 2nd or 3rd hand drone I got really cheap :-)

I would wait for DJI to come out with an alternative to the hub and the inherent battery management system.  LiPo batteries need to be balanced.  The internal balance circuit has limitations and you run the risk of popping something or driving a cell too high which could lead to FIRE.  An appropriate faster charger will also help balance the cells and take the load off the battery internals.

Google LiPo fire on YouTube and you'll see how much energy these puppies release in an instant.  I keep everything in .50 Cal Military ammunition cases (seal removed) as an effective method to prevent burning your house down.  I've never had an issue, but I've been at this for years and understand how to keep LiPo's happy.

I recently got Mavic and I noticed that it takes very long to charge and the battery dies very quickly. I'm new to this so maybe I have set wrong settings or something...

I'd return it. Is this used? I have one battery does that and it is a Cell error for my P3S. It gets worse over time. Look in the Go 4 app at the battery. All cells should be really close together.
