Amazing little work horse this Mavic is.  I brought the Inpsire 2 but had so much fun with the little guy, that I only shot the last 3 clips with the Inspire 2.  Outside temps were a consistently cold and windy 0 degree Fahrenheit.

Focus does handle like a dream on ice and snow. Did a lot of driving through colorado couple winters, through veil both ways {:4_169:} Manual transmission but automatic with the button for descending hills. Nice video!

That's awesome! The shots look GREAT. What did you shoot on as your on the ground camera? Also, I couldn't help but notice that you had an Osmo mounted on the side. How come none of those shots made the edit? Wrong picture profile? Too much wind hitting it?

I shot the ground footage with a Canon 80D and Canon 28-300L slide-zoom lens. The Osmo footage was a bit mediocre I'm afraid. :/

Freaking awesome man! Love the car, love the shot, love the edit (although I think you reframed a few times, as some scenes are very blurry? It might be my internet connection anyway) Great job! Thanks for sharing!

One clip from the Osmo made the final cut....rearward shot.  We had enough footage to make 2 or 3 short films but had to whittle it down to a few.

This was our first time flying the Mavic while driving in the car, so as you can imagine...we were a little hesitant to take any chances.  I had to crop a few  of the shots so some of the bluriness is likely a result of the cropping.

Also wanted to point out that the drone footage was shot in 4K/30 fps, while the ground footage was shot in 1080p 30fps.  The entire sequence was then rendered to 1080p.

Great video!  Mavic seemed to handle the light well.  Did you use Drift Mode for this shoot?

Unlike drones, drifting is fun in cars

Nice! I'm impressed with your rack focusing on the 28-300. It looked great! The cameras cut together quite well, too!

He was in Sport mode for all but the donut.  Then Drift mode for that. Said Sport mode has better turn-in in snow.

No it was all shot by hand. Didn't trust the Active Tracking with all the obstacles around and between the camera and subject. A.T. is a neat party trick, but it's not solid enough yet to do work IMO.

To clarify, the Focus RS has four driving modes:

1) Normal
2) Sport
3) Track
4) Drift

I used the "Track" mode for most of the driving, but switched the shocks to the "standard" mode.  The shock mode is separate from the driving mode.  The 360 donut shenanigans are best done with "Drift" mode..that was the only time I felt the Drift mode was superior to Track mode in the snow.

In drift mode, the corner entry felt a little sketchy and didn't give me much feedback through the wheel.  In track mode, the car turned it a lot better and still very easy to slide the rear end around.

Yeah, what Ford calls drift mode is essentially donut mode.  Go figure.

sweet video i have a 2013 focus st id love to have the rs but i dont really want another car payment when m almost done paying off the st. plus they want a big mark up for it at the dealer. i heard tho that drift mode is only for people who dont really know how to drift and that it drifts better doing it the right way without being in drift mode. but still awesome video i love seeing the rs in action i cant wait for warmer weather i wanna active track my st so bad lol
