[size=14.666666984558105px]I already posted this on RCGroups, but there were no conclusive answers. I thought it might be good to post this in the DJI forum itself.

Here's what it looks like:

[size=14.666666984558105px]The problem are likely dropped frames which confuses the converter. The result is a 28 frame distorted gap each time this happens. It's always the exact same number. I cannot see the orignal file on Mac, but others looked at it on Windows and they confirmed dropped frames, but not the 28 gap the converter is producing. Also the video recorded on the iPad doesn't show those gaps. Here's the original file (it's 3.8GB). [size=14.666666984558105px]The problem occurs at 2:36 (there are 4 more in this video).

[size=14.666666984558105px]It happened 5 times yesterday and every time while using Spotlight mode. I recorded in 4k, H.265, 30fps, D-Cinelike and converted to ProRes LT using on Mac. I need to convert it because Mac's currently cannot decode H.265 directly. I used 4 different converters, all showing the same result.

Windows 10 film and TV app can play native H265 files, if you can post a smaller file or used a windows PC you'll be able to determine if it's in the original file or an encoding error.

Just read through your full post so the people that played it on windows did it show the same issue as your encoded file or could it be their systems couldn't handle the H265 decoding?

I don't have access to a Windows PC, so I can't trim this long video. This is what the user reported.
"Just played the original in Windows and no, that effect is not in the original file, but there is a stutter like a dropped frame at 2:36 and 2:48.
I'll watch the whole file now and see if there are more...
Edit: played the whole file and there are a lot of these momentary hitches, 2 in the first 15 seconds ..."

Apparently the original file contains some smaller hiccups, but not those big distorted gaps I'm getting. This is what makes me believe it's the converter that trips of the hiccup and needs 28 frames to recover from that. To me this looks like dropped frames as reportedd by P4P users.

This is what I see when the two 4Gb files on the SD is put together in Premiere Pro.  Try two solutions: 1. Format the card before each flight.  2. Shoot in a lower resolution and if the problem disappears, it could be the write speed of the SD card.  I'm stunned to see this on the flag ship X5S though!  Not good!

Sandisk Extreme Pro 32GB. I used for quite a while with the P4.

I usually format the card before flying, but sometimes I just delete the files on the Mac and empty the trash bin. Since I don't always get this problem, I will add this to my checklist and do this before the flight.

It's also interesting to hear that this like like the two 4GB files where at least one frame is missing.
