AEB works but in a wrong way. Just noticed today that under low shutter speed conditions (around 1/30 and 1/50) the X5S changes the ISO settings to maintain a faster shutter speed. For examples I got a sequence of three photographs with following settings:

1) 1/30, 2.8, ISO 120
2) 1/60, 2.8, ISO 100
3) 1/320, 2.8, ISO 800 (bummer!)

Does anybody has the same issues and maybe a workaround?

Regards, Gerry

I have not tried this yet but the way it should work is if you are in Aperture Priority Mode then only the Shutter speed should be changed. If in Shutter Priority then the Aperture will be adjusted. Even in auto mode I would thing that ISO should not change. Have tried A or S mode during this?

Tom

Hi Mark - I only shoot in manual mode and this "little" bug is annoying fro professional work.... hope it will be fixed with the firmware update. Regards, Gerry

Hi Tom - yes - the shutter should be adjusted accordingly. Otherwise you can't create pano. Hope DJI will see this bug. Regards, Gerry

If you could, please provide samples of what you're experiencing? In addition, a screenshot of your camera settings would be appreciated.

Hi DJI-Jamie - sure. Re: screenshot - is there a way to reproduce the settings afterwards? Are there any log-files around? Regards, Gerry

Hi DJI-Jamie - here is the link to the RAW-files and screen prints of my AEB settings. Btw, the props were spinning but the bird was on the ground. As you can see, the AEB does change the ISO settings and the shutter speed which is not correct. The camera should only change the shutter and maintain the other settings. Best regards, Gerry

Just to clarify, have you tried using the latest Go 4 app by this pont to see if there were any changes? Because I don't believe I've asked this yet, could you verify what mobile device you're using?

Since this has become an older thread, is this still an issue? Just because I don't believe I've asked this, could you verify what mobile device you're using if this still persists?

Hi DJI-Jamie - to be honest, I have to check with the new firmware update. I did the update yesterday but I have some other problems with the landing gear and speed now (see my other thread). But I will confirm the status asap.

  • 1/80, f5.6, iso 6400
  • 1/30, f5.6, iso 6400
next tried
  • 1/30, f4.0, iso 6400
  • 1/50, f4.0, iso 6400
  • 1/20, f4.0, iso 6400
Then
  • 3.0, f5.6, iso 100
  • 2.0, f5.6, iso 100
  • 5.0, f5.6, iso 100
Then
  • 4.0, f5.6, iso 100
  • 2.5, f5.6, iso 100
  • 6.0, f5.6, iso 100

These were all shot in Manual. I have done a test in Av, Tv and Auto all seem to be conforming, so I'm not sure what is going on with yours???

Hi Karl,

Thank you for your tests and feedback. Well, I had this problem with the shipped (old) firmware. I'll check the new firmware asap. The AEB function works fine at the moment - hope it will continue so ;-)

Beste regards, Gerry

Hi Gerry,
No Problem at all, I was curious if it was going to be a problem and thought it would be wise to test this out at home one night rather than hoping for the best when the I2 is on a mission!
