Hi,Just wondering why my mavic films 1080p 96fps in slow motion automatically. I took the sd card out and loaded up the footage onto imac, but was suprised when the raw footage was in slowmotion on it's own.

Why does it do this ?
Can you stop it ?

Thanks

It is playing back at normal speed instead of the framerate you recorded in. You would need to set the framerate on the Mavic to be the same as your target framerate for it to play back at the same speed. ie if you're creating a project at 24 fps then set the mavic to 24 fps. If you want high framerate video to playback at 96 fps you need to set that in your video project settings on your mac.

It seems to be a bug in the Mavic's firmware. It records 96fps but saves a movie file that says 24fps. So any movie player plays back 96fps with 24fps which make the playback much slower.

See here: 1080/96 saved as 1080/24 (was: Recorded video plays in slow motion)This thread is BTW just a few messages below yours. You could have found it by yourself easily before posting the same question again.

Set your project settings to 96fps on whatever editor you're using and you'll be good to go!

I set my project to 1080/24fps in Final Cut Pro, then speed my clips up to x4. This allows you to get some slow mo clips in with normal speed either side.
