The directions that came with the Z30 say this is correct. DJI, can you verify? I'm not sure how safe I feel about the Z30 hanging down on what appear to be strained dampners....

Shawn,
Put a zip tie through the rubber and leave them lose. That setup offers no damping because the rubber is streached to the extream. very odd.

Yessir, that was my initial thought, but there is not a hole at the bottom to feed the zip tie through. It feels like the rubber is impregnated with a gel or something?

Greetings Shawn,
you have to put a safety cord, how about fishing line?

Be interested to see if its has been designed to keep the cog of the camera/gimbal in the M600 cog Z, line? and if it has any shake?

Looks good.

Happy flying

Thank you sir. Yes, I am having our machine shop design a type of retention device out of aluminum that I'll try to post a picture of. Trying to keep it professional so I don't show up to a customer facility with wires! The things we do to look good!

This is installed incorrectly.  The triangle Dampener Plate installs on top of the down mounts.  You have the whole plate suspended from it as opposed to it being over the tops of those L angles

Not according to DJI. See picture attached from Z30 manual.

DJI .... Any input? Would like to fly this but not risking a $9,000 camera on something that doesn't look safe.

The only reason to run them the way they have would be to decouple from the craft and not use them as dampers, then use the gimbal to control the movements and have a quasi controlled lateral pitch delay when zoomed in, which might also be why they have three mounting points to help compress the shock loads.
Just thinking aloud at your new lovely camera's expense.

My X5 mount has the adapter plate ABOVE the support legs using the isolation pieces in compression rather than tension. My experience has been very good with that setup.

I've been told by an engineer that this looks OK and is safe to fly.

Yessir, agreed, thus the question. Was surprised when I swapped out my X5 mount for this and noticed the published install. Apparently they're happy with the set up. Guess I'll keep a screen shot that an engineer thinks is "ok," and hope for the best.
