Just curious if other people have had success flying their drone internationally without having wifi/data? Going on a cruise around Tahiti, Bora Bora, etc. and want to take some drone shots, but won't have data because it's too expensive.

Has anyone done it without any data to the phone? Doesn't necessarily have to be in airplane mode, but data turned off.

At least two things need data, maps and unlocking zones in the field.

If you need either and know where you are going to fly beforehand, you can cache maps and apply for Advance Unlocking while you are using a hotel or cafe wifi acccess point.

How did this work out for you? I am going on this same cruise in  a few months.  Were you able to fly??

you can fly just no maps and no nfz.
