Ive been trying to film in 4K with the osmo mobile using my S7. But when I use timelapse, the file size that I get off my phone is pretty small. A 1:17 video is 152 meg. Shouldent this be way bigger if filming in 4K? Its set for 4K in the DJI Go app, just something doesent seem right. Here is a sample:

Maybe its just me? Overcast day? No option for 4K resolution in Youtube like in my other videos.

After a little searching, Its only for Galaxy phones that don't allow 4K recording with the Go app? That's terrible. Why would they put in the option in the app to record in 4K, when you actually can't?

Yes correct. 4K is chosen in the Go app. But its only 1080p. I mean its all good, 1080p is fine. Just wondering why no 4K.

It's because of the compatibility issues between DJI GO and Samsung S7

Just a casual observation, but the majority of people using the Osmo Mobile seem to be using Galaxy S7  or other android flagship phones. If there is incompatibility with a flagship model, we as customers would really appreciate it if you can let us know with an asterisk on the buy page or somewhere in the manual. This way we don't bother you on the forums and we know what we are buying.

Nicely said. This is one of the reasons I bought this. I'm sure this is coming down the road at some point?

It is just the dji go apps with never work well, 4k limited to 50mbps, which is pretty much the same as the stock camera. But that not the main problem, the main problem is shutter and iso control are broken and very unlikey to be fixed on any android phone. 60fps is another problem, only stock camera can shoot at 60fps, any third party app like filmic pro will never work with anything above 30fps.
The motion timelaspe thing is cool and cannot achieve with stock s7 camera app. But shooting with stock PRO mode is the best for video shooting.

I currently just connect the osmo with bluetooth, to enable the shoot bottom to work as volumn up buttom.

Forget about DJI go app not worth it man.

Here are some sample footage with stock camera.

I rooted my phone and used the bitrate mode (4k 48mbps to 120mbps) 4mins 4K produce like 4GB file

you can use osmo like normal gimbal, even the pan joystick will work and if you want (shoot photo/video button) to work as shoot photo or video then you will have to connect the phone using Bluetooth setting on the phone not through dji go app.

Sorry for newbie question, but Osmo Mobile with Stock S7 camera   work as well  as dji app AS a Stabilizers?
For me most imported thing is Stabilizers.
thanks

Yup i film all video with stock s7 camera app, but i used a mod to bump the quality to extreme, and i used a ND filter as well for the video to stick with the rule of thumb,

as stock camera film 4k at 30fps , you will have to chose 1/60 shutter speed for the most cinematic view.

for 1080p 60fps , best shutter speed is 1/125

The mod required root, and a little bit of cost but definelty worth it.
