Simple question, how can I recover the flies that goes beyond 0999 in my card? Is there any file recovery software able to deal with this? Thaks in advance.

Hmmm, I didn't realize the P4 had such a different file naming system than the previous models.  My p3 just creates a new folder under DCIM and starts the fine names over.

Didn't happened with P4 Pro. There is no sub-folder or a new folder of any kind in the card.

Look again inside the DCIM folder for a folder called 101MEDIA.
That's where your Phantom (including the P4 pro) will put any files created after DJI_0999
If it's not there, are you sure you continued shooting after 999?

Too bad you can't create a folder.

Now i have to also worry about this issue?
Thanks for letting us know so i will change the settings to start the naming from the beginning.

i wonder if it is created as a "hidden folder" under his settings ?

I am sure there was no new folder created inside or outside the DCIM main folder or in the subfolders. I ended purchasing a file recovery software and recovered the lost pictures after a deep scan that took 30 min to complete.

Perhaps some phone file recovery software could help recover your lost files back.
Honestly, about two weeks ago, when my cell phone Micro SD card got corrupted, I did searched and tried a series of free data recovery software online, and perhaps they could also help you, like:
Recuva- free and fast
iCare Data Recovery Free- 100% free and simple to recover most of my phone documents and songs
PC Inspector recovery- free, but, not user-friendly
PhotoRec- free and gets a DOS-like interface
Overall, hope my experiences could give you some clues.

Most of data recovery software allows you free to scan the deleted file but can't do the recovery. It depends on whether or not your lost file worth paying to the software.

1. download the best data recovery software

2. connect your SD card with your mac.

3. choose Universal Recovery

4. select your SD card in the hard drive list

5. start scanning

6. after scanning, choose the file you want to recover, click recover, then choose the output path.

Too bad you can't create a folder.

Maybe a workaround is to reset the counter to zero when getting near to 0999.
But I'd rather have a professional resolution.

Formatting the card resets it.


Your computer identifies and numbers your videos when you download them.

My P4P keeps counting. It's a setting somewhere in DJI Go 4. Since I format before each flight, too many redundant numbers would be very cumbersome.

Yeah, I suppose it would have to be. ;-)
