Well I bit the bullet and I'm now the beta tester for the latest firmware for DJI V01.00.240

Done all the batteries no problem everything updated gimbal calibration done, re done IMU Calibration

Everything rosey? NO!

X5S when doing the warm up dance seems normal at first but then instead of doing it's final wiggle the gimbal motor make a horrid noise for about 4 seconds (with it tilted about 5deg pointed down) then it pops up to horizontal and the noise dissapears.

Been online with DJI chat for ages and he is clueless as to what to try next. Other than sending my Inspire to off to get checked.

Anyone else out there brave/stupid enough to update too quickly?

Yes, but after i had done maybe 5 x restarts it goes away. Just been out flying and looks okay so far.

Could be a new way of automatically tuning the gimbal.
The new movi pro does almost the exact same thing when tuning except much loader, i'm probably wrong but it is probably introducing a bunch of feedback into itself.
Test flight for me went ok.

I've done maybe 15 to 20 restarts with battery, RC updates and also re-downloaded and re-installed from dji assistant2. not taken it out for a flight test yet just wanted to get some feedback on here first.

There is a new version of DJI GO 4 just made available. Maybe fix for you?

It's normal, the noise will disappear until it finishes calibration, please fly it and check the performance, and keep us posted, thanks.

Did it finish?  Mine stayed on 84%, 85% and 86% for really long times.  I got nervous when it did on 84% then I just stopped watching until it was done to calm my nerves.

Yeah the update stays at 84% for quite some time, Just leave it alone and it will finish!

DO NOT STOP IT MID UPDATE!!

Yes Do not stop it! might be safer hitting it with a 4 pound hammer.lol
