I would like to better understand the link frequencies from the Mavic Pro to the phone/RC controller.
  

This is what I think I know:

  

Mavic to RC is on the 2.4 Ghz band. One channel for flight control another channel used for video feed, both on 2.4 Ghz.  The RC does not use 5 Ghz.

  

The 5 Ghz band can be used with direct phone flight control (no RC) in case there is interference on the 2.4 Ghz band. Bands can be selected within the DJI phone app.

When using the RC there is no 5 Ghz used.
In WiFi mode (phone only, no RC) you have the option of using either 2.4 Ghz, 5 Ghz, or both bands selectable within the DJI app.
