I just did a try to import 4K video into iPad mini 2 and edit via LumaFusion. The result is unexpectedly good. Can playback 4K video in lumafusion and convert into 1080 which is playable in iPad mini 2. Can't imagine iPad mini 2 is still powerful.

Don't understand. Any further insights to share? Cos have tried to import mavic 4K video into iPad mini 2 successfully but can't playback or edit via iMovie. Use OPlayerHD can kind of playback. But using lumafusion can playback and edit.

Can you share more what are mistaken?
Or do you mean the quality can't be compared with iMac or PC video editing software?

Maybe I got what you mean. The display is not real 4K. So editing 4K video files in iPad mini 2 and convert into 1080p is not real 4K editing workflow.

But it works for me. Cos on one hand I can keep 4K video files but can view and convert to easy to play format on the go. No need to go back home, edit and convert.

You can try to use a 4K Video Converter to compress 4K video to 1080p for your iPad Mini 2.
