I include a photo taken today in the Cape Town (South Africa)  area...  We have the severest drought ever - only 100 days of water left  for the Metro and surrounding areas (affecting about 8 mil people) = it  is bloody hot and we have not seen rain for a very long time (frogs now  take correspondence course in swimming!) - so a lot of fires going  (most deliberately started??)  We have daily choppers (Working On Fire)  flying, trying / helping put the fires out.  Now see what this idiot  drone pilot does....  he flies his (seems like a Phantom?) into the  chopper flight path....  Some SH%T coming for sure....  Can we blame the authoroties?

I do not know.... saw it in the (sports) drone media. My son fwd it to me as he is a sports drone flyer too.  I assume there will be more on this soon.  I'll follow up...

I live in Carramar just North East corner of lake Joondalup and as you can see there is a lot of forrest to the north and east of where I live, The heli bombers use the lake 20 plus days a year to fight to forrest fires. As soon as I here a sound of a heli my Inspire hits the ground pronto! Just no point putting anyone in danger, No excuse for idiots like these....

Always a possibility - but in this case I doubt it.  For the drone community over here I'll hope it was...  As I said, I'll follow up.

This looks like a fake photo-shopped picture ... Look at the external loading that Huey helicopter is towing at speed. The Phantom is not pitched forward (looks stopped)  no way this is real  (IMO)

Could also be the effect of a tele-lens, although the shutter speed is high. So maybe that drone was 100s of meters away and 20s meters below but given the focus depth it looks as if they are next to each other. Still no excuse but it might look more dangerous than it actually was. Or Photoshop. Given how blue the sky is, that would have been trivial. Or stupidity.
Either way, not good for us.

More then likely a fake photo shop picture , as the heli rotowash would roll the drone out of the way very quickly ,  one less drone operator .

Work with Photoshop for years and that's the first thing that came up in my mind.  Fake

The person that took the pic is working on the ground for Working on Fire - taking pictures of every chopper scooping up water.  He took the picture from the ground as he saw the drone in the air.  A person is questioned and some flight data required by the police... the latest as far as I hear.  So no fake unfortunately....

I feel like the proportions between the chopper and the drone, along with lighting, are off. If there is a news story about an incident, this is most likely a fake picture that was made to go along with a story.

If you zoom in on the picture you can see the editing tool on both the drone and helicopter .Zoom in on the other pics there is nothing .I say photoshop . I am not an expert but sure looks that way .

I'm still awaiting official feedback.  I only heard that some of the drone pilots in that area were contacted for info.  I too hope this is not for real ....  (Pres. Trump says there's a lot of fake media...  :-)
