Hey everyone

Can anyone elaborate on estimated waiting time for the DJI ND Filters? When did you get yours, why is there no pre-order possible?

Thanks in advance and safe flights!

I really would like to know the same thing. Now I regret not getting them when they first came out.

I know it doesnt help, but I've had them for about 3 weeks now. They are working well for me.  Key to avoid breaking? Be extra cautious with them. I only install/remove when I have the gimbal clamp in place. I also face the front of the camera towards the inside of my (soft) case as I GENTLY use the edge of a fingernail to free two of the 3 clips that snap the filter onto the camera lens. (sometimes the filter pops off and shoots forward).
When I install the filter, I also have the gimbal clamp on and I GENTLY press the edge (3 and 9 oclock position) of the filter onto the lens.

I've had no issues following the above method.

Thanks for your input. I'm really looking forward to get this kit. I don't need more and the price is right.

I ordered mine from a third-party online vendor and they shipped the same day. I don't know why people order these from DJI and endure the perpetual waiting game...

Yes.  I think some early versions had problems, but PolarPro's Cinema line are suppose to initialize with no issue.  Same with Taco-RC and PGY-Tech.  I believe Freewell are good to go with the Mavic also.

I have no personal experience, but from the research I've done, all will initialize now.  There are still some older PolarPro models that I have run across for sale that may not initialize.  Your best bet is to visit the vendor's site and order directly from there.  Not taking anything away from the other vendors, but PolarPro seems to put a lot of emphasis on customer service, will answer phone calls and e-mails promptly......

There are tons of very informative articles on using both ND and polarized filters.  Just do a google search and start reading.  That's what I have done.

PolarPro also has a free app that helps determining what filter to use for the type of lighting you are working with........

Do the DJI filters come in any sort of case that's appropriately protective during travel?

If not, what do people use for them?

Mine came inside a very small hard foamy material container with a cover made of the same material, and that's inside a thin and equally small cardboard box. The cover just pulls off to reveal the filters and won't stay in place on its own, so so I keep the container / lid inside the box. I don't have it with me but the dimensions are listed on Amazon as 3.5" x 1.7" x 0.6" which sounds about right. And yes, the material seems reasonably suitable for protecting the filters during travel.
