I know. What do you expect when you have complete idiots making the rules.

It's also due to the folks who continue breaking the common sense rules of being a courteous drone pilot.
You need to drive out away from them zones... Or get permission to fly.

I see that you started two posts with the same content. That's considered poor forum etiquette. ;-)

Got to love some countries laws though. I'm a registered first responder.  Does that mean I can't fly close to myself?

I tell you what. You are all invited to come stay at my place in Taiwan. I'm about to leave for this site at 2862m to do a sunrise shoot. It also means I have to do an hour hike to get there.  Lulin Mountain Observatory.  There is a little peak so I can launch a bit farther away. I have to drive through pea soup fog to get there which means no other tourists will be driving up there at 4:30am.

I hope to get a sunrise over the mountain peaks covered in clouds.

If it's easy for politicians then that's what they will do, and that's the same for all of us, appeasing the few won't get them votes.

But hey it's the voters who put them in power, it's up to the drone communities to put their best foot forward try coming up with a set of rules and regs which will suit aviation general public and drone community.
And show how the drone community can be responsible in carrying out those rules as red hot poker says, this sort of thing will require some forward thinking and proper lobbying of the politicians you put in place..
