Hello

I have a brand new Phantom 4 Pro, and intend to use it for mapping,

I noticed that my images report incorrect Altitude in the EXIF data,
I did a test flight starting my flight at 95 meters above sea level,, and set my drone up to  164m, - that should have the drone at  259meters, but it reports 506 meters
Exif data shows:
Absolute Altitude               : +506.78
Relative Altitude               : +164.00

GPS Altitude                    : 506.7 m Above Sea Level

Any ides on why this happens, - I made several tests and it seems that the Error in hight is not always the same value, sometimes it's around 100m, sometimes more

Thanks,Marteinn

It's because DJI (for the last year or so) use GPS altitude data in the exif info.
GPS is woefully inaccurate for altitude and swings +/- 100 metres and more over short time frames.

Why DJI stopped using barometer altitude data and swapped to useless GPS data is a mystery.
They understand that GPS data is useless when it comes to flight functions and all altitude data comes from the barometer.

Thanks Labroides for clearing this out. - I thought maybe my unit  was just defect somehow, I'll have to adjust the hight manually on the 3D model afterwards then.

Cheers,
Marteinn.
