Does anyone know if shooting a timelapse/hyperlapse is possible so that you get individual .dng raw images rather than a movie as the end result. Would be great to be able to edit the individual images as with a DSLR timelapse.

Sure, but you will have to take the pictures manually.  You could set a timer if you just want a short clip.  The process you would have to use would be identical to a DSLR.

If you aren't concerned with getting RAW files, you can access the individual images the Osmo takes as well, they just won't be in DNG.

Great, thanks, I have the original osmo. Do you think tripod mode will be available soon on that like it is on the osmo mobile.

Not sure what you mean.  The standard Osmo is already tripod compatible, you will need a straight extension arm, the extended handle/selfie stick, and the tripod.  The straight extension arm will allow you to mount something other than your phone as well, the selfie stick attaches to that, and the tripod attaches to that, yo can get it all on the DJI store.  Alternatively some companies also make an adapter to allow you to use  a standard tripod as well.  You can also use the Osmo base if you have a table or something to put it on.
