Water towers aren't really used anymore. Nowadays they're just nice relics, or turned into houses, or offices. They were used to store water high from the ground to keep a constant amount of pressure on the water pipes underground. We now use water pumps controlled by engines to do that.

Cool video . It looks as though the water towers have a new purpose in life as cell towers . I would have been tempted to fly down and out the side of the old windmill base though
