The wifi is not even showing up on my phone or ipad, can someone tell me what the problem is

Have you got the RC unit switched on? That's where the WiFi comes from, not the aircraft.

Yep, first time I turned on my phantom I was faced with the same thing...turned on the RC unit and then I showed right up.

Yep, same thing happened to me when I first turned on my Phantom 3.  Turned the RC unit on, and viola...wifi...

yes both are on

Start the RC first,then the Phantom. During warm up of the aircraft you open the wifi option on your Pad and have a look for Phantom 3_xxx or so the same and lin it with 12341234 as password.
IF you need to reset the wifi then scroll down the gimbal wheel and switch up-down  3 times on S2.
