I have a P3S and live near a theme park which is currently closed as it's out of season. I'm thinking of flying over to have a look. I'm always hearing about not flying near large metal structures, but as a novice I have no experience of it. I'm guessing roller coasters would fall into that category.

What effect would the structures have on my P3S? It is ok to fly there?

All advice is appreciated

Metal and compasses don't mix well together! If the compass isn't functing as it should due to metal or magnetic forces, your A/C will fly erratically!

I'm guessing I would get a warning message?

If you stick to the law, or follow the CAA Drone Code then you can't fly within 50 meters of them anyway and at that distance there shouldn't be an issue.

I suspect that the 150 meter limit is actually more appropriate although if it is closed then maybe you could argue against that.

s long as you don't fly under a metal structure, you should be fine.
