I would like to share with you the achievement of the Phantom 4 Pro in range: 8.034 km (26.358 ft)
And this is achieved with stock model - no modifications, no boosters, just how it is out of the box.
Remaining Battery when returned: 20%

In an EU country my best achievement over the sea was 3.2 Kilometers
Edit: what frequency was in use, 2.4 or 5.8?

The frequency was 2.4GHz. The 5.8GHz cannot go that long.

Yes, the drone returned back home with remaining battery at 20% (see the screenshots at the top).
For this mission I tryied to keep the speed at 50km/h.
Obstacle Avoidance was disabled, flying at 30m above the home point.

Nice range.  8km...  Twice what I have done on my P3S

Actually 5.8 can you go just as far as 2.4 in the DJI remote.   According to the DJI spec sheet,  they are both rated at 4.3 miles.

You do not need any range extenders with the P4pro.  I have gone out well over 4 miles and back in a very urban environment.

Flying in Cyprus (member of the EU)  should -in theory- put the Phantom automatically in the CE lower power range, so the distance range would be 2.2 miles for 2.400 - 2.483 GHz and 1.2 miles for 5.725 - 5.825 GHz

5.8 the same day 30 minutes earlier had achieved less than 1km - cannot figure out why.

It would be helpful if people can report their experience with maximum distance (range) of their Phantom 4 Pro.

According to the latest manual, 5.8 has less range then 2.4 in CE

2.4 - CE 3.5 kms
5.8 - CE 2.0 kms

7 kms for both bands in FCC
