This is the second MP I've had now and both had a port cover over the micro-usb that would not slide down and open like the one on the other side.

I've put my fingernail in the little slot and pulled down so hard my finger started hurting.   In contrast the SD card side just pops down with just a little effort.


I know it's just plastic so I don't want to put too much pressure like a standard screwdriver or anything.

I had a similar issue on my replacement and I found that it will slide down so long as you try not to press it inwards at the same time you are sliding down.

I just used a screwdriver/guitar pick to gently pry it open the first time. After that it went a LOT easier.

finally got it to go down, but doesn't want to slide all the way up or flush with the body now.  It's always something.
