Ok, I was flying yesterday, and had an IMU issue and my aircraft did not fly straight.

http://forum.dji.com/thread-90680-1-1.html

So today, I did a new IMU, camera, compass, RC, and vision sensors calibration.  I went to go fly and I'm still have the issue of the P4P NOT flying in a straight line.  It veers off to the left as it moves forward and then when I reverse it...it veers off to the right (camera still facing away from me).

Has anyone else had this issue?  Can anyone else please test theres and see if there P4P will veer off to the right or left?  Any one have any suggestions that may help in getting it to fly stright?

Thanks in advance

Hi. Have you calibrated your controller - perhaps the sticks aren't centred properly?

May I know how long you've owned it? You've installed the latest firmware, right?
I replied your original thread as well, please follow up it there, thanks.

Tell us about the cross wind.

Yes, that is the first thing I considered... with the GPS not working because of weak signal, it might be the most probable cause...

Yes, that was part of what I did to try and correct this.

No cross wind.  If anything, now that I think about it, there was a breeze coming from behind, maybe about 1 to 2 MPH.

DJI-Natalia,  I have owned it for about 6 months and yes I have the latest firmware.  I will reply back to the original thread soon.  Thanks.

Agreed, thought about that as well BUT when I let off on the RC command it would stop and hover AND it appeared to drift back to were it was suppose to be if it had not veered off in the first place.  17 satellites, RC bars were in the red with 1 indicating.  Hummm, not sure what to make of it.

What about the compass calibration?  Are you sure you did it correctly - meaning away from metal objects including rebar in the pavement and you didn't have a cell phone or bunch of keys in your pocket, etc....?

Correct.  I have done this correctly.  VERY particular when it comes to re-calibrating my quads.  Open field, no concrete, metal fences, cell phone, pocket knife, keys, etc.  I am sure I did it correctly and thanks for double checking.

Also, I had a P4 and I remember it was a MAJOR issue of the aircraft going up in altitude for a while before DJI corrected it with a firmware update.  There were so many feeds in this forum and complaints, but after the update...no longer had that issue when I had my P4.

I can only assume that this is similar issue...just in a different direction.

Same issue, second P4P, calibrations do not help.

No it did not...that is why I did the calibration.  It didn't fix it so then I posted here to get additional help.  DJI-Natila is looking into it for me.  I just have to send her my flight logs.

I had an issue where mine flew straight until I did my first IMU cal and then after the cal it drifted to starboard.  Your issue may be the speed controller because it changes direction between forward and reverse. Just a thought.

I have also experienced this issue..
One thing to test is with a different set of props as unbalance props can result in drone not flying straight.

I also have found when EXP settings are tweaked lower it doesn't fly as straight as when they are set back to default .4 (not sure if u have changed these but I did an noticed a difference)

Mine would fly slightly left going forward and slightly right going back in gps mode and Atti mode. It seems a little better now with EXP back to default and new set of props

Thanks for your input.  Still not sure what to do.  DJI-Jamie is looking into this for me.  Hoping she can let me know what I need to do from this point

Props.  Yep did that too.  Changed the porps to a new set.  No difference.
I did, however, change the EXP and other settings trying to tweak it...I'll try setting it back to normal.  Thanks for the input.

I think that no one actually asked this in the thread but do your motors spin with the same amount of friction?
I had the same issue myself
My P3P wouldn't fly in a straight line
After checking the motors I've seen that one of them took more force to spin with my hands
I yet have to replace it but that's probably the issue

Good idea, and I just check and all motors are spinning with no effort.

Please see this post for how I was able to correct the issue of my P4P NOT flying straight.  This worked and have and ZERO issues since then.
