When using a second controller on the IS2 and X5... Can you set the right joystick to zoom the lens when using the 15-45mm lens?

Also has anyone done much with the LIVE 1080i output from the controller, Would love to see a video if anyone has one?

Thanks!

Yes, I have the ability to zoom using the right stick with a second controller when I'm using my Panasonic 14-42 power zoom lens.

Do you have any issues with gimbal balance when you zoom in flight?

No troubles with balancing at all.  I just installed the 2 balance rings recommended by DJI and it was good to go.

Viper .  .  . can you post a video of the 14-42 zoom capability.  Thats awesome that you are using it . . . that MAY put me over the edge to get that if its smooth.  Can you adjust the speed of the zoom in APP ?

The zoom capability is excellent.  I have used it on both the DJI Go 4 app as well as the Litchi app.  It is very smooth to use.  I will try to post a video the next time I fly.  You will not be dissapointed in using that lens or the app's capability in my opinion.

Would you by chance have a pic of the gimbal counter weight installed? (the one on the back end of the X5s) I feel so noob-ish saying this... but I could not figure out how it gets installed.

Are you talking about the counter weight specified for the Panasonic lens?

Thanks for the info Viper!

Any chance someone can post some video from the HDMI broadcast output?  Very interested to see what the 1080i looks like in the field.

Please post a video if you can! Would be super helpful.

Is it smooth zooming while filming? Or do you have to adjust zoom first, then start filming? Someone was saying that it is shaky when zooming and filming. Getting that cineflex look

My experience, as a solo operator, is that you can rapidly swipe the zoom slider and it will travel the extent of the zoom range very smoothly and at a good speed. But, if you want to zoom slowly, and have your finger modulate the travel of the slider, get ready for a not very smooth zoom.

Hi Viper,

When i look at the options for mapping the 2nd controller i only see options under custom for Pitch, Roll and yaw on the sticks.
How do I get one of the sticks to do Zoom on the lens please?
Thanks in anticipation.

So the WSL has been using an Inspire 2 for it's LIVE drone shots - Here's a sample.

The quality is quite bad which is surprising... Is this what light bridge 2 looks like to everyone else using the HDMI output?

I just struggled with this too. There is no rear weight on the X5S although the graphic on your controller when first installed suggests there is.
Just add the two rings (probably supplied already screwed together so they look like one) on the front of the lens.

The Lens DOESN'T BALANCE WHEN ITS POWERED OFF! as soon as you power up the barrel of the lens extends and then it's balanced.

This had me scratching my head for a while too.

I still can't find a right-stick option for my camera controller - Viper Pilot could explain where you found this option in the Go 4 app please?

Regards,

Nick

In case anyone else is trying to use the camera controller stick to zoom - it turns out you can't.

I've just been speaking to DJI support about it and they confirmed it isn't currently possible.

I've requested a software enhancement for this it's an obvious thing to do.

Nobody hold their breath.

To be able to zoom with that lens you need the DJI Focus and Zoom Wheel 2 I have attached a link  https://dl.djicdn.com/downloads/ ... User+Guide+V1.0.pdf
