Updated firmware to  v01.03.0600.  No problems with update so far except app is not updated yet on playstore, so tablet will not connect to controller.  Am waiting for app update.

The application update is available on the DJI website under mavic support/software downloads.

Yes, ideally the upgrades should be rock solid. It's a bit more tricky since there are a lot of moving parts involved in the upgrade. I am always nervous that the upgrade my brick the Mavic but fortunately, this seems to be very rare.

That's my concern too; having to restart the upgrade is just a minor nuisance, but winding up with a bricked Mavic would be a major problem. As you said, though, so far it's been very rare.

That is where I was going and I am still not seeing an update for DJI GO4 4.0.6 Android. Am I blind?

Just scan the QR code at the bottom of the page.  Text says 4.0.5 but the file is 4.0.6.

When iOS 4.0.6 was released, it seemed to be delayed 12-24 hours before it showed up in the App Store.  

I now recall that you can launch the RC, Mavic and DJI Go 4, and it will tell you that you need to upgrade the firmware, which I'm doing now.  

I just a little concerning to me if there is an issue to trying to fly with the app being behind the firmware.

This (a bricked Mavic)  is the kind of thing that would cause an immediate post here.

For me this firmware worked rock solid. I had some issues with gimbal overload while booting, but until now seems that solved too.

I have both a Samsung Galaxy S5 (recommended device) and a S7.  The app crashes constantly on both.  Me and 1,840 others in the Google Play store.

Are you running aOS7 by chance?

Litchi just posted to say that the issues with the older firmware has now been resolved for the mavic but the P4 and inspire still remain.

DJI's new Mavic Pro firmware (v01.03.0600) fixes the bug introduced in the previous firmware versions. VR with Immersive/Joystick Head Tracking active, Follow, Focus and Track and safe to use again with this new firmware. The bug still exists in the current firmwares for the Phantom 4 Pro and Inspire 2.

Phone connects with the controller just fine here without the app update.

Apple needs to approve the app first for apple users. Hang in there.

Sounds like your compass got out of whack.  Did you check that it was in the green before flying?

My camera horizon is not that level anymore after upgrading to .0600.

Mine has never been level.  Have always had to tilt it 4 degrees.

Upgraded and flew two battery packs with no issues.  Using a Iphone 6S Plus and Ipad Mini.  Fixed wing mode is interesting will have to fly it more to really get used to using it.

Issue Resolved with Mavic Pro
The latest DJI firmware update (v01.03.0600) now supports Mavic Pro usage of Autopilot.

Please only use Autopilot with your Mavic Pro if you are running this firmware to avoid flight control issues.

We will update further when we hear about and can test any updates for Phantom 4 Pro or Inspire 2. For now, please do not use Autopilot with these aircraft until a firmware update that fixes the erratic behavior is released.

Note: For Inspire 2 and Phantom 4 Pro it is still possible to safely use Human Flight Control Modes and Waypoint Mode as long as Lost Connection is set to Continue Mission (LCMC). It is also possible to downgrade the Phantom 4 Pro to v01.02.0304 and have complete Autopilot functionality.

Tested the new FW out today - worked pretty well - in my 10 minute flight. My IMU/compass looked normal. My only (fixable) issues were: 1) All my settings (RTH height, gimbal settings, max height etc) were all set to something totally different. 2) Oddly my gimbal tilt was set to 0.6. Anyone else see anything like this?

Not sure better check Mavic Pilot Forum or ask DJI.

Are you sure about this? I have been flying with Samsung Edge 7 for a while and haven't had any issues.

Note: I didn't update to Android 7.0 (Nougat)

Still being decided, it was from a phone call to DJI support that this "information" is coming from

DJI - let the app download the update FIRST, then proceed to instruct for the user to turn on his drone.  Why have the drone sit there idle during lengthy downloads?

Fair - but if the download time is taking 45 mins - perhaps do your check, alert the user you can turn off your drone and then when ready to install....etc.

Note I just flew a whole battery from 100% to 20% and with app 4.0.6 (android) and firmware .600, no app crashes, no anomalies, nothing.  Worked like it is supposed to work.

And you make a valid point, I try to be mindful of how a bad firmware flash could ruin my day; I watch the lights go on and off.

Finally got the date right in videos. Not 1951! Time was 4hrs off though. (As with before, it's wrong in the info in the video but correct on the filesystem directory listing.)
