Why isn't it a New Drone when you get a replacement?

I have a P4P that was covered under manufacturer warranty for a defect. Why do they send you a refurb instead of a new one especially when it was a manufacturer issue? Just wondering.

The replacements can either be new or refurbished. Did Support confirm whether or not it actually was a refurb? Just to clarify, units that would be considered 'refurbs' are units that are built from new parts and not used ones.

Also, considering this was a DJI Issue with a defect will my DJI care refresh be extended by the 2-3 weeks it has been out? I know it's a rather different question but If you have insurance on a car you get a replacement to use during the down/repair time not so much for the drone and considering it wasn't pilot error I was wondering if this could be done?

Normally the turnaround time is about 2 weeks after been received at the facility.
If your case was under normal progress, we cannot extend your DJI Care Refresh.
Could you please provide me with your case number for better assistance?
