Hi guys (and ladies)

So my almost year old P4 has been going great the last few months and no issues until a few weeks ago.

I will be flying my P4 for 10 to 15 minutes, with no issues, then with no warning regardless of the distance the P4 is from me, the video freezes on my display. Every other function works fine. I can control the P4, i can RTH, i can manually land. Everything is fine expect for the video feed.

So i usually land the P4 and restart the GO app, and i get the video feed back, only this time the video will freeze in a matter of seconds. It seems like once the P4 is warmed up, it keeps disconnecting the video feed.

I am flying in remote areas with no interference.

Any advice is appreciated.

So i rolled up the Remote firmware to the dreaded v1.8.0 and now i have no video video at all from the P4.

Any advice out there?

The only thing that's happened in the past few weeks is the DJI Go upgrade to 4.0.6 (Android device ?).

I would roll back DJI Go to 4.0.5 & the RC to V 1.6:-

Connect display device (with good wifi connection) to RC and power both up (aircraft off).

Run DJI Go, on initial screen (where it displays aircraft type etc) at top right hand corner you will see a 'graduation hat' icon (or perhaps three lines if DJI Go 4). Hold your finger on that for about 5 seconds and release. You should now see a black screen appear with an option to roll back RC firmware. Make sure RC is well charged, takes about 5 minutes or so. Power down when complete. Restart all and check all working, you may need to relink RC to aircraft.

i have similar problem, very early after takeoff camera picture freeze, but i can tap n home and back Go Fly and everything is ok until i land. Maybe help to fix.  P4 + 1.8RC Android 6

Change your location to US on your display device running DJI Go 4. Under the 'Image Transmission Settings' menu you should now be able to select 'Custom' mode which allows you to chose a channel and the bit rate of the video feed. Reducing the bit rate can help alleviate problems with display processing.

I would try the roll back of RC to V1.6 first.  The whole point of auto channel selection is to switch channels automatically if any interference on working channel. Manual selection means that would lead to problems perhaps, if working channel gets noisy.

The roll back doesn't take long, and if it doesn't work then it's easy to re-install latest version again.

I also have the HDMI module installed on the controller, should i remove it and return to stock. I don't use goggles very often.

Just as a data point: my new P4P was getting the frozen video and a "no signal" prompt.  It was a lower speed sd card that caused the issue.  My bundled package came with two sd cards and I put the slow one into the copter.

I would try that first, if you don't use the goggles; the HDMI module has been mentioned a number of times in relation to RC V1.8 compatibility.

@Lammy1000 - I use Sandisk Extreme Plus UH-3 64gb.

@Aardvark - OK, i will try first with removing HDMI Module and RC v1.8.0 if no good i will revert  back to v1.6.0 also without module.

If it works without module on v1.8.0 then DJI can give me my €100 euro back

How did removing the HDMI work out?

I rarely can get my two Samsungs to connect to the video feed now from my P4 with it (All updates applied.).  If they connect, they may drop out after a few minutes and GO 4 will crash to a black screen.

However, I can connect with a iPad Air 2, but it too might break up a small bit, but not black screens and Disconnected (i.e. A stubborn to connect.) message from GO as with the Androids.  The HDMI output is fine though.

Something is messed up somewhere with the HDMI and/or GO 4 maybe?

Let us know how it went when you have the chance.

So i left the RC firmware at v1.8.0

I removed HDMI module from the RC and reinstalled the stock module, i then  tested the video.
It's much better, still a few glitches ever now and then but much better and at least i can fly now.

I will leave out the HDMI module for now.

Having constant issues with dji drones

I am having issues with my dji p3, p4 and Inspire 1. Regardless of distance the screen keeps freezing. I have tried multiple deviced. Yesterday it was working okay on the P3 and then froze again.  Thanks to that I now have a written drone. Last year the p4 decided out of the blue to not connect to the control add it thought it was a p3. A superior product? They certainly not cheap and should work
