I've heard of others having this issue but I'm not sure how many people have this issue. Is this somehting that all Mavics experince or is it a defect that I should look into getting taken care of? The gimbal works perfectly fine in all other aspects, only when flying sideways does it become not level and start to tilt.

Mine certainly does not do that. The only thing you can try is a gimbal calibration other than contacting DJI Support.

Could you please clarify your current firmware version? Is the firmware up to date?

I also had this problem once. It solved by recalibrating the gimbal on flat surface.
