After losing a little interest with my original Phantom, my interest and excitement levels are through the roof with DJIs recent product launches. Buggers have had almost £2k off me in month! A lot for a bit of a hobby! Mrs would not b happy with me at all...  {:4_173:}

I want to buy a pair but only if they will also operate on a 5.8 so I can use them with my racing UAVs.

Mods @DjiMindy  or @DJIKen , is there and I don't even mean a diversity mode, just a way to fly on 5.8. It would be amazing to me if there wasn't. I was waiting to buy my next Goggles as I am just rocking one of those box and a monitor Goggles now before I went and bought the HD V3 Dominators with a diversity module.

Again, I don't care if it doesn't do diversity, which would be awesome and cheap to do if it didn't but CAN IT RUN on 5.8?  I can't seem to get an answer from the people at Carson.  I have gotten different answers to b honest.

I will order it this second if someone tells me that it will.  It would be so frustrating if it didn't because I SO WANT THEM but I can't spend $1000 on goggles which is what i would have to do in order to buy these and the V3 HDs.

So yes or no to 5.8?  PLEASE YES!

Yeah, I just read the manual I see on page 17 that it supports 2.4 and no 5.8

DJI is literally eliminating the ENTIRE racing community by not having a 5.8 option.

Furthermore, for not much on the bottom end of the cost of these Goggles, they could add a 5.8 option for almost no money and for a TINY bit of money add a "diversity" set up which switches to 5.8 to 2.4 based on which ever happens to be stronger (whily flying.  It's atually amazing tech).

This would be good not only for racers but for everyone. I am absolutely floored by the lack of 5.8 support AT ALL, let alone in the form of diversity.

And the answer to your question, yes I could go through HDMI but when you are freestyling or racing, the latency of the downlink is measured in milliseconds and each millisecond matters.  You can't go 80mph around a corner and have a bit of latency and while the latency in the sky on a Mavic or a Phantom is virtually unnoticeable even by way of HDMI, you would be on the ground after hitting a tree in a racing scenario.

SUGGESTION BOX FOR DJI: Add at a very minimum a 5.8 option for racers and freestylers even if it remains purely digital and maybe on your DJI Goggles 2, have a diversity option and an analogue one so I can use it for all my needs. I LOVE my photo birds (even though currently I can't set a homepoint on any of them) and I also love my racing and freestyle DIY gear but I can't see buying the DJI Goggles as much as I want them when I can buy another pair of Goggles that I can use, albeit not as taylor made for DJI products as the DJI Goggles.

The 85 degree FOV is SICK and must be absolutely immersive and might be the reason why they are not even trying to cater to the racing community as even 50 degrees is too big for some but I love it.   Can't get wide enough unless it starts bending which I am sure these don't.  UGH! So frustrated as I will probably get these and just have to finally get a pair of other diversity Goggles.

I will probably by the latest Aomway with diversity built in over the Fat Shark ones because they are clearer but they are just for racing really and not what I wanted for my photo birds. I guess in the end they are very different but I was so hoping that DJI would spend a couple extra bucks on these and make it so they could be tailored for people like myself who want both.

Aside from myself, I know a ton of racers and freestylers that aside from parts, don't have any photo birds and will be upset to learn that these are strictly 2.4.  Most ASSUMED they would be 5.8 and were just waiting to see if diversity would be built in or not.  Not even close.
DJI was first a part of the DIY community before they started with the Phantoms and such of the world and still are to a certain extent but they might have been able to regain a lot of monetery pick back up from the DIY community with these goggles as I know people were waiting to find out if they would be racer and freestyle friendly.  I don't even know if they realized that there was a massive community waiting on these goggles that will be dissapointed that they don't have a 5.8 and/or a diversity module.

To be clear to everyone with Mavics, Phantoms, Inspires and the like, this does not efffect you and I am sure these goggles are amazing for the purposes of photgrapgy which is why I want them, just don't plan on using them for or if you want to be racing or freestyling.

Shame.   Oh well.  Will still probably be getting them, lol.  You wont find a good pair of goggles like these with 85 degree FOV.  That's pretty amazing.

Certainly does!  Don't wanna wait! Hopefully it's a worst case scenario sort of eta. Wishful thinking and fingers crossed they turn up before then

Think I must have been mega lucky as I looked late last night and no joy, then tried my luck this morning and went through no worries. 20 mins later they were gone.

They are available to me right now in America.

I SOOOOO want them too.  Not buying these is the most restraint I've had in modern memory.  It doesn't help that my show was canceled so until I get another gig I just went from "on hiatus" to "unemployed" so my money just became worth more to me than it was a few days ago when Last Man Standing was canceled.

But that said, I still am itching at the finger about to buy these.  If they supported 5.8, there would be no thought, I would have done it right away.

I'm sorry I love FPV flying and all but I wouldn't be caught dead with these things on . Too big, too bulking. Did they get their design cues from Sony? DJI could've to you to mount a microwave on your head and I feel some of you people wouldn't think twice about it. Now, I own a pair of Fatsharks are they the best, not even close, but at least I only look like half an idiot instead of a complete one.

Obviously the design is inspired by apple products, it`s almost strange they didnt call it the iGoggles. if it where sony`s design, at least they would be mavic grey in colour.

I managed to order them early yesterday (got an email announcing availability from DJI). First the web site wouldn't respond (I suspect they were swamped with orders) but eventually the order went through. I was afraid I'd have a repeat of what happened when I tried to order the Mavic on announcement  day where the web site never did respond and I was forced to order from a reseller.

I have to agree with ArtistFirst, I really wish there was a 5.8 option.

Has anyone used these for PC Gaming and VR yet?  Wonder if I can kill two birds with one stone here: Get this for my UAVs and Gaming. (skip the Oculus Rift)
I mean its usually just an HDMI port.

I ordered about 1 hour after it was live on their website. In California. DJI chat says mine won't even ship till the 20th. Still says TBD on shipping :-(

So I see people ordering these things 2 days ago and I still have yet to get an instock notice, why bother to have a notify me when in stock link if your not going to actually send out a notification?

And that's exactly what happened with my order 2017-05-15

Since the bank blocked the credit card transaction I used paypal. Charged in full 2017-05-17

Just checked the order status and it says 'Shipped'..... YEs, shipped...

but I have not received any shipping notification so far. and dunno how to trace the shipment... anyway, will wait for it at home patiently.

Well i got my package today from DJI ... no goggles though ! I ordered prop guards and the DJI sleeve at the same time ... the package just had prop guards and the sleeve in ... AAAhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
