I was tinkering around with the camera settings on the P3S and started looking at the gimbal setting and found that I can unlock the camera view to look up 30 degrees

I remember coming across that too, but have never tried it.

go into setting, and then into camera, and then to advanced, you'll see a button that say 'Enable Upwards Gimbal Tilt Limit to 30 degreees'

Wouldn't you get a lot of blade in the picture if you did that?

if you go up to 30 degrees.. I tested it this past weekend in a stationary position

yeah I figured.. Its was cold in Chicagoland so not a lot of airtime or interest in tinkering with the Phantom

Its handy. Been using awhile. If near tall tree or building can look up a bit to get orientation. sure you get props but it has different colors as you bring slider down so you know when level

I think it's more for use with the FPV setting which basically locks the gimbal at whatever angle. You would need positive camera angle so you aren't staring at the ground while flying forward.

I guess you could also use it to stare at the sky while flying backwards?
